Maureen A. Pineau, Attorney Reviews (3)
Dear Revdex.com; Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint of *** * ***. Ms *** complaint is without basis in factAttached and included is a copy of the signed retainer agreement between myself and Ms***It is clear from reading the retainer
agreement that this case was not a "flat fee" case and that Ms *** was to be charged by the hourAlso attached and included are copies of the monthly invoices sent to Ms***Ms*** was unhappy in the end as her husband's lawyer's secretary made an error in the settlement check and the check had to be reissuedMs*** seemed to believe that the error made by her husband's lawyer's secretary was some kind of devious plot to annoy herWhile the error was clearly her husband's lawyer's office's fault, mistakes do occur and Ms*** received her re-issued.check without further delayThere were absolutely no complaints from Ms *** to me about my service and she never attempted to discuss any complaint that she is now making to youShe had a very difficult caseShe and her husband had been locked in battle for years and I came in and cleaned up the mess. I have never been abrupt with Ms*** and any question that she asked was answered appropriately in content and demeanor. Ms*** owes $1,and she needs to pay it or I will take steps to enforce my retainer agreement. Very truly yours, Maureen A P*** encs
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I initially paid $for this attorney's fee. At
that time she stated that this $should cover the entire process.
Now she is asking for additional money! Is it right for this to occur
without a conversation with me that there would be further costs? Regards, *** ***
I hired Maureen Pineau in November of 2010 and served my husband with divorce papers the same month. I am now divorced (December 8, 2011)with paying over $6,100 for a peaceful problem free divorce. We both just wanted to undo it and were not out to hurt one another. After 25 years of marriage you don't just hate someone. We just wanted it done and over with. Maureen dragged out the divorce for over a year, didn't do the majority of the paperwork on a timely basis, on the payout for my half of our home, she submitted the paperwork shortly before I was to receive the money. She holds everything up as she doesn't submit paperwork on time. I'm now waiting for my QDRO from [redacted] Company, the paperwork was submitted incorrectly and she knew this the second to the last week of December, 2011. She also knew I was to close on a home and needed the money to proceed. I am still waiting for her to resubmit the paperwork correctly so I can move on with my life. I was supposed to close on a home January 2, 2012 and would have been able to had she done her job in a timely fashion and correctly. Everyone (my financial advisor, sellers, realtor, lawyer and a judge) are still all waiting for her to complete what I've alread paid for which should have been a done deal in December. I'm going to lose my $5,000 deposit and my dream home if she doesn't get the job done that I've already paid her for.
