Good morning [redacted]. Below is our response to Costello Landscaping regarding this complaint. This is the last response we will be making. We don't want to be aggravated any longer by this situation. This has been going on since March 23rd. We have hired another contractor and are proceeding with the work. We have been homeowners for many years and have hired many contractors to do renovations. This is the first time we have ever filed a complaint. That's how strongly we feel about this. We would like this complaint filed against them if at all possible to alert other consumers to this unprofessional type of conduct. We understand that the decision to post this is up to the Revdex.com. Thanks you for all your help in this matter.

Costello Landscaping came to our house with 3 separate quotes as we requested. We requested the 3 quotes so we could eliminate parts of the project if necessary because of cost. We did eliminate 2 of the 3 areas of work immediately upon reviewing them. The 3rd quote however is the one we wanted to proceed with after some changes had been made. We asked the salesman to remove 3 items from the quote to get the price down to an amount we could afford. We asked him to remove the cost for trenching the downspouts. We asked him to reduce the square footage and asked him to use a less expensive material. I gave him his drawing back with these 3 items listed on it. He told us he would call and never did. My wife called him several days later. The price he quoted her on the phone was higher than the original price. She told him he was heading in the wrong direction. He apologized and said he was confused. That is the last conversation we had with them. They never came back with the revised price minus those items we wanted removed from the original proposal.Yes, I sent them an email in an attempt to get them to respond. They never did. I’m sorry they felt it was negative. Maybe the truth hurts.

Jun 18,2015 Costello Landscaping is writing this letter in response to the inaccurate complaint ID [redacted].The accusations made by this couple are fictitious and lacking several pieces of information that they must have forgotten to include when filing this complaint.We submitted 3 separate prices...

for the work they wanted to help them better understand the cost of the work. After our salesman presented the pricing to them they wanted some changes made to help fit their budget. Not a problem. We made the revisions to what they wanted and several phone calls were made back and forth to discuss. But there really was not much discussing as it was the couple telling us what they wanted at a certain price. But that is not how things work. As the couple stated in this complaint - We have been in business for over 40years, and the reason to that is because of our quality of work, our professional relationships with our customers, and because we do not just givejobs away for free.This couple did send us a negative email on 5-11-15 that we chose not to respond to.There is no complaint here besides this couple being upset that we could not do what they wanted at a price they wanted it for. This would be like someone walking into a grocery store and filling up their cart with groceries, and then telling the cashier that they only want to pay a small amount for it.With that being said, we ask that this complaint be deleted from our file.
