Thank you for allowing us to respond to this member concern We hated to hear that our member was unhappy about our merge to the Max Fitness on Tower Road We own both locations and it was a business decision that we had to make and we are sorry we were unable to provide a more extended notice Our legal agreement states that we may move and offer our members another location within miles of the original location If you leave the airport location and drive to the Tower Road location, it is only miles It takes about to minutes to get to the Tower Road location from the Miller Road/Moon Road route We are open hours during the week and we have great hours on the weekend We hope this member will at least try out the Tower Road location so he can get the most out of his membership Our member does not qualify for cancellation at this time Max Fitness Tower Road is a large beautiful gym that offers so much more than our old Airport location Please let us know if we can be of further service Max Fitness Customer Service - Columbus, GA

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this member concern We did not hear from Ms***e concerning a cancellation request until February 4th, when she phoned us We have no previous notes from her or phone calls or letters previous to this date Ms***e said she mailed a certified letter on November 12th, We never received it at our office and she cannot provide the green card with our signature on it showing that we received it Ms***e mailed a certified letter on February 4, after a phone call she made to us wanting cancellation requirements There were no notes in our system that she inquired about a certified letter she mailed to us in November on that phone call We received a certified letter from her on February 11, Her payment due on February 5th, was returned unpaid because she did not call us and let us know she had changed credit cards due to a compromised card Ms***e's account was terminated on February 21, after she paid her February payment plus a small late fee Our month to month memberships are simple and only require a day notice so we can be sure we get the membership cancelled We wish Ms***e had followed up with us when she never received proof that we received her certified letter of November 12, At this time we cannot offer a refund We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused Ms***e Thank you Max Fitness - Columbus, GA - Customer Service - Ms***

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this customer concern. After further review and after speaking directly with Ms*** we understand what happened. The gym, Max Fitness *** ***, did speak with member and cancelled her account and are in the process of a refund. Originally we thought Ms*** was a member of another gym, *** ***. We are glad the gym found Ms***'s paperwork (cancellation request) and have agreed to give her a refund of $73.99. We do not own this gym and do not process their cancellations, however since they have the Max Fitness name we try to help with any customer problems that are unresolved. Please contact us if we can help further with this concern. I did give Ms*** my name and telephone number to call if she is not completely satisfied. Once again, the contract doesn't specify where the 10 mile rule applies, which leaves Max Fitness free to say "10 miles from our original facility."  A contract should be thorough and clear. It was not. I want out of it. And now I want my money back. I'm willing to take this to another level if necessary. I appreciate the response, but I'm not satisfied

As a military member I did not check my account due to limited service while serving my country. If they checked my membership to see if I was there they would notice I didn't use their gym for over a year.  If I treated someone in the manner that this gym is doing I would not have a job.  I provided documents requested.  And no I didn't checku account again I was deployed like most military members with limited access

I provided proof in letter sent to them.  I moved away from columbus and did not change my home address due to military and did not get response from them.  When they called and said my payment was declined that is when I questioned the billing ! All included in a letter to them if why I was still charged.  I'm sure they can scan in the letter

In response to this members concern, again, we first got a letter from Ms. [redacted] on February 11, 2014.  She called on February 4, 2014.  We had no knowledge of her desire to cancel.  Only that we had a returned payment.  We had no knowledge that she had moved and no longer wished to be a member.  We had no knowledge that she had mailed a letter in November, 2013.  We would hope that Ms. [redacted] had noticed on her bank statement that she was still being charged and she could have called early on to discuss. We do have the letter we received on February 11th.  She was still responsible for the February payment that was returned.  We are sorry for any confusion regarding this account.  Thank you.  Max Fitness - Columbus, GA.  Mrs. [redacted] -Customer Service.
