Review: I dropped off my motorcycle for repair at Maxim Cycle on Friday July 10 2015 for a 1 hr diagnosis of why my battery wasn't staying charged for $62.50 per hour. I was informed that night that my stater wasn't working properly and needed to be replaced, so on Saturday July 11 2015 I went to Maxim and prepaid for the part to be ordered. I paid $145.00 in cash and was given a hand written receipt. This would have left the initial 1 hr diagnosis and an additional hour of labor for the install remaining to be paid once the work was completed and was verbally told that the ETA was between Wed July 15th - Fri July 17th. I waited until Friday 7/17/15 to inquire about the repair and I was told they hadn't received the part yet. I continued to wait and inquire as to why the part delivery was taking so long, and was told some story about how the part was damaged and being exchanged and also couldn't be found locally so it had to be shipped internationally. After 3 weeks of waiting for my primary and only mode of transportation to be repaired I came to retrieve my motorcycle and a refund of my $145.00 minus the $62.50 diagnosis for a total of $82.50 on Saturday 8/1/15. Upon this request I was told that they were still on the hook for the part and so was I as well as an additional half hour to split the difference of the initial diagnosis. So they wanted me to pay an additional $31.25 on top of the part to retrieve my motorcycle that had only been diagnosed. I finally argued enough that they probably realized how ridiculous their stance was and let me leave without paying any additional amount. I was told that I could come pay for the additional $31.25 and pick up the part to repair elsewhere because I didn't want to give them any more of my money. Here it is an additional month after the initial 3 week wait and I've yet to hear from them about the part arriving. I found the part available here locally via the same avenues that the owner said he tried to find that part and had purchased the part I needed on Wed 8/5/15 from Western Honda. Seeing as how I never received the part that I initially paid for and have moved on with repairing it elsewhere I would like to see a refund for the part minus of course the $62.50 diagnosis that was the only actual labor performed by Maxim Cycle.Desired Settlement: Refund of $82.50. (Part Payment of $145.00 for a part that was never received minus the 1 hr diagnosis of $62.50)
