I am located in harrisburg Pa and I will continue to use them for my yearly cleanings. Thomas and his laborer Ken were great company. I have also recommended them to my neighbors.

A complete swindle operation. Cold-called me for "cleaning", came here to announce that the chimney was "completely deteriorated" and required "urgent repairs" to the tune of $7000 - or problems with boiler will result! Turned off heat and hot water, on the sly and without telling me.
Second opinion and a look from plumber later later, nothing urgent and nothing required of that magnitude. They are a bunch of unscrupulous and smooth-talking operators - BEWARE.

Great company to deal with. I needed a lining system installed for my gas system. At first I thought there prices were a little expensive. Than I got other estimates and realized the materials were of the highest quality. I decided to go with them and it was a great decision. There quality of work and work ethic is outstanding. Don and his crew truly know what they are doing.

Review: I was cold called about getting our chimney cleaned for $40. When The workers arrived they said that the entire chimney would need to be relined at a cost of $4500. I winced at the amount but their insistence that this was a hazardous, dangerous condition that required immediate attention led me to reluctantly agree to have the work done. Shortly after the workers begin tell me they tell me that I "have a blockage", but that they should be able to clear it "with sticks". They then quickly come back to me saying that to clear that blockage I'd have to pay an additional $2000. I'm in a distraught panic which they're cleanly preying upon. Using their "specialized tools" they have this blockage cleared with five minutes. [redacted] said to me "Once we touch it with a drill, it all fell apart". I don't think that $2000 for five minutes work is anywhere close to a fair price - especially considering that I'm already in to them for $4500.

After they finished the chimney that serves the burner, they said that they would do the one for the water heater at only $2500. Since these are both within the same stack and they are of similar size, why would the price be so radically different for the other one?

The entire job - from their arrival to departure took less than three hours. Their whole demeanor smacks of exploitative price gouging and relying upon fear to get a homeowner to agree to ridiculously arbitrary, inflated prices.

This is not a case of "buyers remorse", but one of careful consideration of the event after the fact.Desired Settlement: The entire $2000 charge for clearing the blockage needs to be refunded and $1500-$2000 needs to come off their initial charge.

Response:

On 8/*/2013 our technician was at the [redacted] residence. Upon inspection our technician stated the problems that were recommended to be fixed. The technician thoroughly took [redacted] through the job to show him what was needed and what needed to be done. The technician also took video footage of the flue pipe for the heating system as [redacted] was there. After recommending the work that was needed to repair the flue pipe the technician told [redacted] the price of the job and the price was agreed upon. We showed [redacted] the contract on the invoice so he knew exactly what he was getting and what was being done. [redacted] agreed and upon completion he signed the contract stating that his credit card was going to be charged. We charged his credit card after the job was completed to satisfactory. After the job was completed my technician said that [redacted] was satisfied hence this is why he signed the contract. The next day he called and left a message on our answering machine stating that he wanted his money back because he felt that the job was over priced. I then tried contacting him and could not get a hold of him for a few days, I tried calling him from a different number and finally got in contact with him. I tried lo explain to him the scope of the job and tried explaining to him why the job was the price that it was. Itold him that there was a lot of work involved and that it was a permanent fix to the flue pipe with a lifetime warranty. He didn't want to listen to anything that I, the owner, was saying and he kept yelling and talking over me. Then he hung up on me and I tried gelling in contact with him for the next couple days, I called his wife and explained everything to her and she told me that he handles everything, however she said to talk to him because he deals with it. I tried to get in contact with him again for the next couple days but he did not answer, Ieven left him multiple messages for him to get back to us. This is a rare occurrence because most customers of ours never had any issues and we have never had any complaints about the work that was done. Also on that note [redacted] as well didn't complain about the actual work being done. This to me shows that this is an obvious sign of buyers remorse, because he wasn't asking about or questioning the work that was done, the only thing he said was that he wanted his money back. He threatened us that he would call the credit card company and Iha! he would call the media. So in conclusion the job was done to perfection, we fixed his problem, and we have a contract signed by [redacted].

Thanks in Advance

Response:

We have received the response letter to complaint number [redacted] regarding [redacted]. [redacted] claims that he should have had 3 days to cancel. The job and contract were done on the same day. How would somebody be able to get their money back once the job was done? If someone gets a roof put on their house and they signed the contract and all the work was done how could they change their mind after the job was done? Simply the job was done, contract was signed, and [redacted] changed his mind afterwords. That is clearly a case of buyers remorse and is not our fault.

Our contracts at that time did not have our current address because we moved to a different office location. Our past address and current address can be found easily. We have a website that has a google map of our location. NY’s Finest, the company that came in after us, address is a home address and not even an office location. So for [redacted] to say anything about us and not question NY Finest’s is ridiculous.

[redacted] also said that we are “obsessed” with NY Finest. The fact that NY Finest is unlicensed and uninsured is completely relevant. We are a licensed and insured company that went to [redacted]’s home and did the right job and right work by him, as you can see there is NO complaint about the work that was done. [redacted] allowed an unlicensed and uninsured company to come into his home and tell him that they could do the same work for a cheaper price. [redacted] got scammed by this company, if you could even call it a company, they told him exactly what he wanted to hear and bad mouthed our company and unfortunately [redacted] believed them. [redacted] is clearly at fault for this, he got scammed by NY Finest and is blaming us for his mistake. [redacted] did not abide by the contract he signed, the work was done and the contract was signed, he cannot cancel a job after the work is done.

NY Finest is ran by a person who is a two time convicted felon. [redacted], whose name you can google, is known for stealing from customers. This is why he has been to jail not once but twice. He is a scam artist and [redacted] is just another one of his victims. We have tried to explain this to [redacted] on multiple occasions but he has been so brainwashed by [redacted] that he doesn’t listen to anything we say. [redacted] believes that a company, NY Finest, who is unlicensed and uninsured and ran by a two time convicted felon, is more honest then Maximum Energy Savers INC who is licensed and insured and have no complaints about any of the work that we have ever done. [redacted] claims that our phone calls are “upsetting” him and his family. What is upsetting to us is that we did the right job for [redacted] and he was scammed by NY Finest and just doesn’t want to hear it.

In closing, Maximum Energy Savers INC has done nothing but the right job for [redacted]. [redacted] has gotten scammed by NY Finest and just doesn’t want to believe it. We have tried to help him on many occasions to understand the truth and he constantly disregards anything we say to him and keeps asking for the money back for a job that was done to perfection.

Sincerely,

President
