I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Humble Home Repair is an established business in the northern KY areaFor him to say that it is easy to find a qualified tile person is almost funny, since he brought in a 'so called excellent' tile guy that messed this whole job up.On July 17, we emailed the business a quote we did get from a reputable, qualified tile guy, and Humble Home never responded backIn that email we explained that no reputable tile person will do any repairs to our bathroom, without completely tearing everything down to the studsBecause Humble could not say whether his tile guy did any water proofing, no other tile person would touch this, because they do not know what damage might be behind the walls or floor. We are including photos that show the three different color styles of grout and caulk, the crooked tiles, the grout that has been popping out (some of it partially covered over by Humble with caulk prior to July) the amount of water that comes out onto the floor after the shower is used.We have sent Humble a quote from a tile guy that Florida Tile recommended in JulyWe will call the *** *** in Florence and see if we can find another reputable and qualified tile guy to come and give us another quoteHowever, that is as far as we are going to goBecause Humble never responded to the many emails and texts sent in the last six months, we do not feel he has any plans of paying for our bathroom to be properly taken down to the studs, waterproofed, and retired by an experienced, qualified tile guy

The business did not spend 40-50 hours trying to resolve the problems. Business spent maybe 20 hours here, if that, and only painted the ceiling for us out of guilt, after asking what he could do to help make things better, knowing how bad the job had gone. The business was given a spec sheet for the glass shower door, showing what the tilt needed to be on the ledge of the shower. The subcontractor tilted the ledge towards the bathroom, resulting in the water coming out onto the floor. The business replaced it, also tilting the ledge into the room, and not towards the shower. The business was given a big discount to have the glass replaced on the shower door, at our pleading with the glass company, to try and help the business owner out. We paid the original $1000 for the shower door, and had the tile been installed properly, there would have been no additional cost to the business. The business owner might have not used the word that we were 'screwed' ... but when my husband ran into him, he said there was nothing else he could do. The business was sent texts on 8/4, 8/22, 8/26, 8/30, 9/6, and 9/10 about how this could all be resolved, and there was no response. This complaint has nothing to do with us 'not being satisfied' and everything to do with the structure and integrity of our home ... dealing with water damage, and possibly mold within the floor and walls of our home.On July 24, 2016 the business was emailed a detailed quote from a tile installer recommended to us by the tile shop where the tile was purchased. Although the name of the installer was not given to the business, a full scope of the work was included in that email, including the cost. Again, there was no response from the business. We live in a very rural area, and there are not a lot of quality tile installers in the area. We are not going to spend our valuable time trying to find two more quality installers to give a quote for the work that needs to be done, when the business never even responded when sent the first quote for having the work done right. A detailed email and multiple texts from the beginning of August to the present date have been sent to the business, with not a single response from him. We feel that he is doing what he can to drag this out, and make things even more difficult for us.

Business is aware that the subcontractor did make some errors at this job. Business has spent 40 - 50 hours repairing these issues including painting the ceiling. Regarding the shower step leaking on the floor, it's hard to know if that was done properly because he did the install the same way he...

found it when he removed the shower and step/seat. If there was no waterproofing found at that time, then none was added at time of install. Business also bought a new shower door, but is was installed by someone else.Regarding the insurance issue, business is in compliance and has the required liability insurance for damages, but as he told customer, not being satisfied is not an insurance issue. Business did not tell them they were "screwed". Business is primarily a deck builder. Business does not wish to bring in another subcontractor and be liable for their work. He wants to resolve the issues and have it done properly.Business requests the customer to provide 2 or 3 written estimates that specify the breakdown of the work to be done, and the contact info for each business. Business would like to discuss the work with the business and appraise them of what has been done. Customer has sent varying estimates in the past, but without itemization or company information listed. Business wants the customer to be satisfied, so the customer can have a direct relationship with that new business going forward.

Mr. [redacted] is willing to fix the situation and will pay the business doing the repairs directly. That is why business is requesting more than one estimate, in writing, from which to select. Mr. [redacted] will discuss the job so far with the business/contractor and pay them himself. Customer's home is near Florence, and more than one tile company should be available for an estimate.
