I don't dispute the signing of the receipt, what I dispute
is they not informing me about the return date of an item and the quality of
their product. As they mentioned I came
to the store to get the tuxedo fitted and notice the jacket and pants being oversized
I was okay with the pants being oversized since it felt comfortable that way
but the suit jacket was oversize all aroundThe problem was it was days before
the wedding and I wanted them to adjust suit jacket as best as possibleThey
informed me to return the same day to pick up fitted suitI came back to the
store and was told that they didn't do anything because they thought I left, a
mistake on the store partI was unhappy about this but they offer to get it
down within mins, I simply decline and told them to take their time and I'll
make another trip back tomorrowFinally arrive to the store and received my
tuxedo and made payment (another issue I will mention later.) minutes before
wedding ceremony, the pants ripped down the inseamI was surprised and embarrassed
My sister sewed the pants with navy thread (since that was what we had) and I
continued to wear the pants as isThe inseam continue to rip further down
under the navy thread which is signs of a bad quality tuxedo (I had rented
other tuxedo before and never had this problem.) I ended using the pants for
about an hour in the wedding before I switch out to some uncomfortable pants my
sister had to bringBecause of these events, I was upset of the quality the
tuxedo pants was, which was provided by the business. I received a phone call Tuesday night informing
me that I need to return the suit and that I was charge late fee for not
returning the suitI was upset because I argue with the caller that nowhere on the receipt does it provide a
return date for the tuxedoNo employee at the business verified the date with
me either during my many trips to the storeI am aware of there being
late fees but the store didn't let me become aware of the return dateMost tuxedo
rentals I been to usually provide a week to return tuxedoI didn't take a
whole week to return the tuxedo; I just try to return it the earliest
I canIf I were aware of the date, I would've had someone send the tuxedo for
me the next day after the wedding. I
don't dispute signing the receipt provided by the business, what I dispute is they
not informing me about return date of an itemThe store stated in this message
that they gave everyone a complimentary call to all of the groomsmen in the
party to return tuxedoI received that call one day after the suppose return
date and at night after their business hoursThe caller stated again that
the groom should've notified me and I again stated that they should as well
They only response is that someone must've told me. Upon reading this message they stated
that two people should have told me but they don't mention anyone in particular
that actually told meI disagree with this event because this is the first
time I red them stating that "two people" told me. But any who, I went to the store to return my tuxedo
the earliest I can and I requested to speak to owner to explain this
embarrassing situation and receive a refund for the suit but was told by one of
the employees that her uncle was the one in charge since he handled the store's
finances but had other business; he had a truck driving job to attend to than the
storeI express my frustration to the employee in a respective manner and ask
her to provide the refund but instead was told I was going to be charged for
the late fees on top of that because of the tuxedo coming after the return date
(which I wasn't informed of.) I was never rude and insulted anyone in the store
as the business mentioned in this message (in fact I was the other way around
when I visited the store prior to the wedding.) I finally received a call the
next day expecting the owner but got a hold of the owner's daughter, who
informed me she is responsible for the storeI try to explain my situation to
the person and they just simply said, "They can't do anything." I try
to plead with the person on the phone with reason why I deserve a refund but
was cut off many times during the phone conversationI realize that person was
going with only one solution and not listen to my reasoningShe was really
apathetic to the situationI was upset with speaking this person, I informed
them that I will not be bringing any more business to their store and the
caller hung up midway to my statement. They claim to be courteous and take off the fees for
accidental damage, but the receipt has an accidental damage waiver written on
itI'm not sure if the writer of the message was trying to use this as an
example of appeasement (which was not.) I do appreciate that they didn't charge
me continuously days after not telling me return date but the fact that they
did for a day on a suit that didn't match their product quality and I ended up
using another pair of pants was a huge disappointment. Another
problem I have with the business is that they overcharged me (before this late
fee fiasco and pants ripping.) On the
initial down payment receipt, we agree to the tuxedo price of $(including
sales tax) and me placing a down payment on my credit card for $Months have
passed by and they call me for the tuxedo and pay the remaining balanceMe
being courteous and respectful to the employees, after driving many times
there, gave them my card to charge me for the rest of the priceThey gave me
another receipt of $85, which I thought was highIt wasn't until a week later
after looking at my initial down payment receipt, that I should've been charged
$dollarsThey charge me $dollar more than price we agreedThis and the
entire problem I had to endure with the business made me really disappointed
and I asked them for a refund and was turned down, so I posted an opinion
review of the store. I'm
sorry if the business interpreted my social media opinion review as rude or heartless but
that's not what I was aiming forThe business and the public needs to observe
my opinion review as valid constructive criticism of the business practices,
products and customer serviceThey should not discredit my opinion review as
"incorrect" as all of that event I described did happenAs a business that
believes everyone has a right to provide an opinion review of their store, the
business should listen and gain constructive knowledge from my (and others)
store experience and improve itself upon it, not discredit or call out the
person heartless or rudeThe descriptive words I used for the employees were
meant only to describe them from my observation and experience interacting with
them; they were not used to insultI did it in this manner because I just
simply don't know their namesI don't believe it is an insult to describe a person
and their dominate feature and interaction experience in an opinion review
This is not harassmentAgain, I wasn't intending to insult anyone, I was just
describing people I met during the experienceI even gave good praise to the
blue hair lady that empathizes with my disappointment at the store when I
returned the tuxedoEver since the opinion reviews, I haven't interacted with
the business or posted any continuous information about the store since my
opinion reviewsUnlike me though, an associate, friend or family member from
business reached out to me on social media and insulted meSomeone I never met in my life reaching
out to me over social media to just insult meI don't think it's a coincidence
this happened days after my review pieces of the businessI used [redacted] to
found out who this individual was and he was listed as a friend from the store
I thought it was really immature for an individual, not involved in this situation, to
reach out to me and add insultsUltimately, I just want to be refunded back my
money from this business as a resolutionI'm sure they are great people but
their business practice does need to improve from this experienceI just want
to end this ordeal and continue my life and services with other businesses in
my city

Again, here is a copy of complainants receipt where at the top he was notified he was being charged an extra $30 for the shoes that he rented, this whole group rental was the exact same price, he never was charged extra. [redacted] (girl with blue hair) notified him on Agu.4.2016 at 3:56 p.m That he will be paying $85 instead of the original $55, because he was never charged for the shoes, he then agreed. The complainant was notified by mindee on june.10.2016 at3:57 p.m that he needed to have returned the tuxedo the Monday after the wedding and was told again on Agu.4.2016 at 3:56 p.m by [redacted]. jims formal wear doesn't provide a day on there contract because there a whole sale realtor that provides tuxedos to different companies not just maxines. therefore the return date isn't written on the contract we verbally say it, in 50 years that maxines has been is bussiness we have never had a customer tell us we didn't let them know that it needs to be returned the Monday after the wedding, in fact neither of the complaints party group was ever treated any differently.  On Agu.8.2016 we called the groom and notified him that 3 grooms men havnt returned there tuxedos and he agreed to let them know, therefore we courteously didn't charge all 3 guys late fees it wasnt till tuesday Agu.9.2016 at 1:52 p.m when we called the complaint to notify him that he would be charged a one time daily $40 late fee he didn't answer so we left him a message witch in fact is 10$ less then what the contact says the late fee is. Also all employees leave the store around 7 p.m so there was no way someone called him after hours. It wasnt till the next day on wensday Agu.10.2016 when he spoke to [redacted] about why he was being charged a late fee, up until this day he never brought up anything about ripped pants witch again is not maxines fault due to the fact like  he stated previously they where to big on him. It wasnt untill  when he came in with his girlfriend demanding his money back that he brought up the fact  he accidentally ripped our pants. which  he never notified us about untill he was charged a late fee, if he would of notified us Saturday, Sunday, or Monday that he didn't get to wear his pants we would've  gladly refunded him. When I called him on thursday Agu.11.2016 he was furious that I couldnt refund him the whole tuxedo cost or late fee. When in fact he damaged and over kept our merchandise  after the due date. In which we never charged him for the damages done to the pants, and we only charged a one time late fee of $10 less then what is stated in the contract. Which I let him know of.  He then stated he would never  send anyone to my store. I replied back okay thats fine. Then the line got quiet and he hung up. I assumed it was done, but it  didnt stop there .His been harassing our customers  who've  written good reviews , I attached proof of this.  Its a review a customer wrote about Maxines (us) viva our advertising social media [redacted] page. Were he insults the Reviewer for being satisfied with our services.  We cant and dont  control who writes good or bad reviews about  Maxines, therefore he cant hold it  agaisnt us  what our happy customers say about there experiences here. We are very sorry that the complainant feels we are unfair , but we are professional and we have to follow our rules and regulations. [redacted] charged maxines a $50 fee for a damaged tuxedo and another $60 fee for returning it late.In which  we only charged the complainant $40 late fee and waived the damaged fee. Hopefully now the complaint understands our side and we cant both move on .
