Review: I placed a telephone order for a generator and accessories from this company and was offered free home delivery and no sales tax. The shipper was a trucking firm working for [redacted]. when they called to schedule the delivery, they told me they could only deliver the generator curbside. After much back and forth with the saleswoman and the shipper, we could not come to an accommodation to deliver the generator to my front door. I received a confirmation after placing the order stating free delivery. No other conditions were placed on the order. I never had the product delivered and told [redacted] to return it to the shipper. We are both senior citizens and had no way of getting the presumed carton from our driveway to our front door. When I contacted [redacted], I received a partial refund and the shipper deducted $374.25 for the "free delivery" and submitted an post dated invoice invoice to verify their position that I had to pay for the shipping. They have refused to settle with [redacted] and reimburse me for their failure to deliver the product to my front door. I am now out $374.25 for an item I do not have nor do I wish to do business with this company again. I received several emails from them after placing the phone order confirming the conditions, etc. The order was placed at the end of August. The prepared and sent a bogus statement or invoice to [redacted] dated 9/12/13, long after the item was returned to them and after I began my dispute with my credit card company.Desired Settlement: Reimburse $374.50 to my [redacted] account.[redacted]

Response:

Customer placed an order of a generator from our website. Included with the price of the generator was free shipping with lift gate at delivery address. When trucking company called customer for a delivery date, customer asked them if they would put it on her back deck. The machine weighs 280 pounds. The trucking company said there would be an extra charge for delivery to anywhere except her driveway. She threw a fit and told them not to deliver the generator as she would not pay the extra charge. When she called our company to tell us what happened we tried to explain the extra charge but she was very very rude to our customer service representative. She was told if she did not take the delivery, she would be charged the cost of the shipment from us to her then from her to us. We would waive the re-stocking fee because we knew it had not been opened by her. We did give her credit for the unit minus the shipping cost. She then called and again was rude with the customer service representative and said that we advertised free shipping but she didn't receive free shipping. She then "threatened" to call Revdex.com, [redacted] and any other entity she could think of to tell them we were taking advantage of the elderly. (not sure how we were supposed to be able to tell she was elderly as we can not see thru phone lines) She had placed the ordered on our website that clearly spells out our return policy and shipping options. When we spoke with the [redacted] representative she was satisfied we did the right thing after hearing our side of the story and agreed she should not be credited the shipping charge and the claim was closed. Customer has opened the claim a second and a third time and each time [redacted] has sided with us. IF the customer had some respect while talking with our representative we would have met her half way on the delivery charge and it would have only been a $35.00 fee instead of the $374.25

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: the company is continuing to lie. I placed an order by phone not through their website. I do not have a back deck and asked that delivery be to my front porch where my front door is. I never discussed a litigate delivery with anyone and was not rude to anyone nor did I threaten to file complaints until now. The person who took my order told me I would receive free shipping. I made it Clark when the delivery call came up that I am 75 and my husband is 88. This company is now lying to the Revdex.com and has never contacted me in any way to resolve the delivery charge they fabricated after I refused to accept their curbside delivery from [redacted]. They have been dishonest with every contact. They prepared a bill for [redacted] dated 9/12/13, two weeks after they received their merchandise back from the [redacted] trucking facility. They are disreputable and dishonest. They should refund my money. And yes, I will not let this rest until it is resolved to my satisfaction.

I am a retired professional and am known for my trustworthiness. I continue to serve in the public sector. I resent the comments about my behavior. That is not a defense for shabby and deceitful business practices.
