Great building great price!
This was one of the first companies that didn’t try high-pressure sales was very happy with the building and the customer service answers the phone every time you call or at least called you back within a few hours.
Great building great price!

Not what I expected
Unfortunately, I purchased a steel building from Mayflower Steel Buildings. TO see my story, go to: https://diysteelbuildingkit.org/

We bought a 600 square-foot building from Mayflower for storing motorcycles, dirt bikes and snowmobiles. It is perfect! Extremely sturdy...would definitely purchase again. Be aware, building codes in your area may require you to spend more on your foundation than you do on the building. Mayflower staff was extremely helpful when we had to delay our shipment several times. Very easy to work with.

Company took $6300.00 Deposit back in November of 2017. To date, and after multiple requests, the company has not returned my deposit for a building that could not be constructed as designed according to plans.

Mayflower Steel Buildings Response • Jul 25, 2018

On November 7, 2017, Herrington’s Building Systems Corp. t/d/b/a Mayflower Steel Buildings (Seller) entered into a Contract and Terms and Conditions with Corene Teneriello (Buyer) for the purchase of a P-Model, 20’x 24’x 12’Quonset Steel Building (Building). On November 14, 2017, at 10:28 a.m., our scheduling department spoke with the Buyer and confirmed with her a delivery date window of November 30, 2017 through December 14, 2017. On November 27, 2017, the Buyer’s purchase order was put on the production schedule. On December 5, 2017, the Building was loaded for delivery on a freight truck. Shortly after loading, and coincidentally, at 8:47 a.m., Seller was advised by its sales representative (SR) that the Buyer had just cancelled the deal. Our shipping personnel at 9:37 a.m. pulled the Building off the truck. At 11:36 a.m.the SR advised Seller that Buyer would accept delivery and the Building began to be reloaded onto the truck. However, at 1:51 p.m. our SR was advised once again that the Buyer had cancelled since the Building was not able to be erected on the intended property since it did not comply with local zoning requirements. At the time the Contract was executed by Seller and Buyer, the Buyer requested from the SR assistance in locating a local contractor to unload the building. As a courtesy, the SR provided this assistance to Buyer. It was the local contractor who informed the Buyer that the building purchased from Seller did not comply with the local zoning requirements. Hence, the reason for Buyer’s cancellation.

Attached is a copy of the executed Contract and Terms and Conditions. The 1st 6 highlighted sentences of the Terms and Conditions, specifically state as follows:

“Buyer is solely responsible for designing a building or structure that will fit Buyer’s particular needs from the components offered for sale by the Seller and providing Seller with the specifications therefore. All specifications for the goods, including loads, have been provided from the Buyer to the Seller based on Buyer’s self determination as to the Buyer’s use and occupancy requirements and the required necessary for the building or structure purchased comply with all building codes, all permit requirements and all zoning, ordinances, bylaws, rules and regulations applicable to the area or territory where it is to be erected (“Building Laws”). The building or structure purchased is only suitable for the above erection location. Buyer is solely responsible for compliance of the building or structure and goods ordered with all Building Laws and Seller shall not be liable to Buyer for any damages for failure of the building or goods to comply with any Building Law. Buyer agrees that the goods described herein are in all respects the goods required by Buyer. Buyer accepts sole responsibility for correcting any noncomformity between specifications and goods appearing herein and the specifications and goods required by Buyer”.

Consequently, taking the above Contract and Terms and Conditions as well as the fact that the Building had been manufactured before Buyer’s cancellation, gives the Buyer absolutely no legal grounds to request a refund of her $6,300.00 deposit notwithstanding Buyer’s son’s verbal abuse and verbal and written threats to Seller personnel to refund his mother’s deposit.
