Items were picked up for repair to be delivered once completed. After contacting vendor for 4 mo.and payment issued for services items not delivered
Vendor was contacted in late February 2019 for carpentry and upholstery work to be conducted on 2 old rocking chairs that belonged to my deceased grandmother. *** the supposed owner of the business came to pick up the rockers on on March 1st at which point payment of $300 was paid via cash and cashapp. Since this person was and is personally known to me I did not hesitate to make the payment. Since this date I have been corresponding via text message and Facebook messenger for status updates. I explained st time of pickup that I need the rockers completed by April 30 as I was expecting a child the following week and these rockers would be used in the baby's nursery. After reaching out almost daily for the last 2 weeks in April practically frantically and not receiving my rockers back I began to get suspicious of the business practices and pressed harder and further for my rockers to please be returned in whatever state they were in even offering on several occasions to pick them up wherever they were myself. It is now 5 weeks past the pre arranged deadline and Mr. has nearly disappeared with my rockers and my money with no end in sight. Whenever I have received a reply from him it has been an excuse that he's working on some other project and he'll get to returning them when he has the opportunity to do so. Each time I continue to offer to pick them up he proceeds to keep making excuses. I need these items immediately. I have had a very difficult time nursing without them.
I just want my rocking chairs returned they have significant emotional meaning to me and my family and I just want them returned. If this isn't possible for whatever reason I want a refund for the $300 already paid. Very simple or the rockers or the refund.
The rocking chairs were done from my end. Sanded and painted white and given to a small upholster that HAS THEM. I REPEAT, I do not have them. Unfortunately he hasn't been answering so I haven't been able to get them. It was agreed that I would give it to him, and she would pick them up when they are ready and pay him direct. No one had stolen or taken her chairs, the upholster simply hasn't returned our calls to get them back, I even left him a message to stop working on them and she will take them AS IS, but already painted white which is what she paid me for. I have stopped communication with her cuz simply put, curse words and threats don't work with me. Again, I don't have them, my part was done and it was paid for and the upholster hasn't them.

Attached please find all communication between myself and Hickman *** of Mayhem Furniture to supplement my complaint. He seems to have given you guys the same run around he's been giving me with his response.
No one is denying that I worked on them, I even said I did... so 49 pages of texts was completely unnecessary,
I do not have the chairs. She even tried to "scare" me with a call from her friend who stated she was an attorney.
Again , I do not have them. The upholster has them. Like I me tinned to your "representative" , I am waiting on 1 of 2 calls .... A) he tells me to go pick them up that they are ready. Or B) to go pick them up as is because she requested that they not be touched cuz of the delay and she will find her own upholster,
