Consumer filed duplicate complaint: Delivery issues Overall, we did not have a good experience with this businessThe owner took a total of $15,above and beyond the money that we paid him for work that was done in our house, and he did not complete the workExample: My wife gave him money for a new door, and the door was never delivered nor installedThe owner of this business has used his medical problems and expenses as excusesAlthough WE DO feel sorry for his various problems, we feel that HIS problems should NOT have to be OUR problemsWe are in a financial bind because of his situationIt seems that the money we gave him and is owed to us was used by him toward medical expenses and who knows what elseEvery time I think about the $15,that is owed to us, or I am told by my wife why we are missing this or that in our house, I feel very aggravated, frustrated, and usedI feel that the owner befriended my wife which made it easier for him to take our money and leave the jobWe did have some communication via the Revdex.com website but I never said I was satisfied with the "outcome"Owner has offered to "work off" the $15,that is owed to us but based on past experience I am hesitant to say that I believe this will happen in a timely fashionI wish that complaint # [redacted] would not be considered as being resolvedI feel that some compensation to us is desperately needed, and NOT in another six months or longerThank youDesired outcome: Refund The Desired Outcome is that the $15,that is owed to us is paid off (an installment plan would be acceptable) before six months from now

I called David May and he responded with: I cannot do any payment arrangement until after I am able to go back to work

First of all I dispute the amount of money the ***'s are claiming that I have earned up to nowI have paid subcontractors a total of $21,for electrical , plumbing, insulation, and installing an egress window in the basement foundationPlus the work and materials that I have performed and
supplied totals $13, Making a total of $34,310, not $25,I do realize I owe ***'s money totaling $15,I had met with the ***'s in June I had explained that I have health issues that are keeping me from workingShortly after the project began, I was informed that I had to have double bypass heart surgery in 2013, I have had difficulty walking due to severe arthritis with muscle spasms and my hips have gotten really bad in the last yearsThe hips are bone on bone and complete hip replacements are requiredI had explained to the ***'s that I would make good on my debtThat I would return after I am healthy enough to work off my debt of $15,I have lost everything as a result of my medical problemsI would think that *** *** would understand my situation, being that he has medical problems keeping him from workingI guess not! I have been doing business since and never had a complaint against me with the Revdex.com! I have many satisfied customers in the last yearsIf I was in a situation where I could hire another contractor to pay off my debt, I most certainly would do soUnfortunately, I am bankrupt, sadly living in a basement! Due to my inability to workI do intend to resolve this matter, but I will need time to get back on my feet.It may take a year or two,but I will pay the ***'s $15,that I owe themThank you, David M**

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I also wish to clarify that the dollar amount owed to us by MrMay is indeed $15,700.00, as stated by MrMay in his letter to *** from the Revdex.com. This was an error on my part -- I can assure you that it was not intentional, and I apologize to the Revdex.com and to MrMay for this. Furthermore, my wife and I are aware of the health issues that MrMay has mentioned. Both of us feel very badly about these issues, and MrMay is correct that I also have medical problems and cannot work at this time. At the same time, we are very disappointed, to say the least, that things have turned out this way with our house, that the work has not been completed, and we are in such a bind. We cannot wait one or two years to have MrMay possibly work off the $15,700.00. He said that he would get some of the work done within a few weeks of our June meeting, but absolutely nothing was done. No workers showed up. Unfortunately we were advised by an attorney to not attempt to take legal action in this situation, because there are already two judgements against him. Hence this report to the Revdex.com and no legal action against MrMayI am sorry that it has come to this. David May is a fine worker, when he shows up to do work. I hope and pray that his medical issues will be resolved as soon as possible. Regards, *** ***

David May called to respond againHe stated I have a scheduled surgery for one leg in January and then month recovery period before they do the other leg and another month recoveryIt might take years to pay them back, but I have no other optionsDavid said he is going to look at his figures, given he is on very limited SSDI to see if he can come up with at least a small monthly payment plan and he will email me by tomorrow

Consumer filed duplicate complaint: Delivery issues Overall, we did not have a good experience with this business. The owner took a total of $15,700 above and beyond the money that we paid him for work that was done in our house, and he did not complete the work. Example: My wife gave him money for a new door, and the door was never delivered nor installed. The owner of this business has used his medical problems and expenses as excuses. Although WE DO feel sorry for his various problems, we feel that HIS problems should NOT have to be OUR problems. We are in a financial bind because of his situation. It seems that the money we gave him and is owed to us was used by him toward medical expenses and who knows what else. Every time I think about the $15,700 that is owed to us, or I am told by my wife why we are missing this or that in our house, I feel very aggravated, frustrated, and used. I feel that the owner befriended my wife which made it easier for him to take our money and leave the job. We did have some communication via the Revdex.com website but I never said I was satisfied with the "outcome". Owner has offered to "work off" the $15,700 that is owed to us but based on past experience I am hesitant to say that I believe this will happen in a timely fashion. I wish that complaint #[redacted] would not be considered as being resolved. I feel that some compensation to us is desperately needed, and NOT in another six months or longer. Thank you. Desired outcome: Refund  The Desired Outcome is that the $15,700 that is owed to us is paid off (an installment plan would be acceptable) before six months from now.
