Review: I had went int he ditch with my car a couple of years ago. I hit my head so they said I need to have that checked and they say\id they would bill my car insurance. they did not and sent my bill into collection. I also had surgery October 30th 2013. they sent that into collection right away and were double billing me. up until this past month I have been paying on 5 different bills from the mayo clinic. and they are double billing me on one of my bills I have called several times to the billing department. I got a lot of attitude and no help. I should have only one bill. and they expect full payment of over $4000. I don't have $4000 to pay them cash and half the bill should have been paid by my car insurance company at the time was progressive car insurance. I want my bills out of collection and a pay arrangement made. they also sent all my medical bills into collection during my bankruptcy instead of billing me.Desired Settlement: my bills out of collection and a pay arrangement made. I want them to bill and collect from progressive the bill they were to be billed.

Review: I went to see an ENT for an office visit. The doctors name was [redacted] and the clinic was Mayo Clinic Healthcare. I was charged $183.50 for a medical examination(ins. co.) or office visit-outpatient(mayo clinic). I was also charged $540 for for surgery(ins co.) or nasal endoscopy(mayo clinic). I never consented to surgery nor did I consent to have anything done that was outside of the scope of a routine exam. In their patients rights and responsibilities brochure it states:

1. Receive facts which help me to understand the informed consent needed for treatment and procedures before treatment begins(except in emergencies-DHS 124.o5 (3)i). (I was not informed that this procedure was going to cost extra and was outside the scope of the exam).

2. Receive considerate, respectful care in a clean, safe and private place free of neglect, harassment and abuse. (I put this in here because I was lectured for 1/2 and hour on the evils of smoking).

3. Have all communications and records about my health care kept private. (They freely talked to my mother about my situation without my consent).

4. Accept the outcomes of my actions if I choose not to take part in the treatment plan as directed by my care provider or doctor. (I was not given a choice. He said what he was going to do and then just did it. I did not have all the facts).

I called and talked to them and so did my mother. They said it was coded correctly and there was nothing they could do. I owed the full amount. They clearly violated what is printed in their brochure. They sent me a letter saying that they will be looking at how improvements can be made in the future to let patients know that there will be an extra charge to this procedure. That doesn't really help me though does it? I should have been treated with the same respect these future patients will be. The real kicker is that this procedure took all of maybe 1 minute and they charge $540 for it. It told the doctor nothing more that we already knew.Desired Settlement: I want this charge removed from my bill. I was uninformed and feel I was taken advantage of.

Review: I had many issues with the hospital in the last half a year, including unwilling to provide detailed explanation of charge, using wrong insurance code category, bait and switch charges (charge emergency while providing urgent care service), unable to reach the manager and no response from registered dispute mail, accusation of representative of using free hospital service.

There were two bills for services around Oct 2013 that I was disputing. One is for a Colonoscopy I went for a routine check. When I got the bill, it was billed as diagnostic instead of routine check. After many phone calls to billing department, they are unwilling to help and just kick the ball back to hospital saying they can't change the insurance code. This is basically a bait and switch medical practice. How can they bill me as a different category when I did not consent to it. I even offered to pay the surgery charge separately if they can itemized the bill, the billing department just refused to provide a detailed explanation of itemized charge.

The other charge was for an urgent care visit for a minor headache. When I visited, I specifically said I want to be treated with urgent care. But after the service, the paper given to me to sign says the treatment is in emergency department. I confronted to it and refused to sign the paper. Not only that they did not correct it, they sent the emergency bill anyway. This is furious. They are over-charging and robbing me without regarding whether I consent to the charge or not. It's like charging my credit card without signature.

I have been stonewalled by the billing department many times without a resolution. I have even sent a registered mail on Feb. 12, 2014 to them explaining my concern after they start to threat sending the bill to debt collector. No response from that was received. They simply ruins my credit and send the bill to debt collector without willing to correct their mistake.

There is no transparency in billing. The billing is very confusing and bundles everything together in one charge. There is no place I can get to that actually willing to resolve billing problem with me. I can only turn to Revdex.com for help.Desired Settlement: I want the charge removed and debt retracted. You guys have gotten 80% of the money from insurance company already. All the extra costs billed to me is the hospital's mistake in billing and insurance category, why should I pay for it.

I have received mail for a person that does not live at my address, never has lived here, I do not know them and have called Mayo at least 4 times to let them know of this mistake. This has been going on for YEARS, mail for the same person. I also write on the envelope no one here by at name, return to sender and stop sending. Mayo has even asked me if it is a bill, implying I should open someone elses mail!!!!
