Maysville Tire & Service Center Reviews (1)

Misleading repair servicesWe brought in our vehicle for repairs. The passenger side brake was grinding. They replaced both front brake pads. They told us callipers would need replaced soon but that it would be fine to wait a few weeks. We asked repeatedly if they were certain about this as we needed to use the vehicle for a long distance move the next day. That same night, the driver side calliper began seizing up while driving and the entire wheel began heating up. We called when they opened the next day and were told that they thought it might do that and the only resolution was that we could pay to have the callipers replaced AND pay for new brake pads again. I would like a refund. I would have had both the callipers and pads done the first time had they been honest and forthcoming about the possibility of this happening, as I was informed after repairs añd paying for service that they did in fact suspect it would. We had also asked if there would be any safety concerns with just replacing pads and were told "No, no. You should be fine." I feel strongly that this is certainly a safety concern now.Desired SettlementI would like a full refund of the $100 spent with Maysville Tire so I may have the repairs done correctly by another shop. I do not want them to do the repairs, as I do not feel confident that they will provide professional, adequate, or safe services.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] OwnerContact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]We did replace the front brake pads on the vehicle. The passenger side brakes were down to the metal. I informed the customer that the vehicle needed brake pads, rotors, and possible calipers. They told me to do only what was necessary because they needed the money for the moving truck the next day. The only repair that had to be made to make the vehicle safe was the brake pads, so that's what I did. Once the job was completed, the caliper in the drivers front tire was tight. I informed the customer that it probably would freeze up, but I couldn't give a time frame on it. They said that it only needed to last a couple of weeks and they were tired of putting money into the vehicle and they were going to sell it. So I did exactly what customer asked me to do.Consumer Response He told us that that he did NOT think the calliper would freeze up and that a little rubbing may occur, but that he didn't think the wheel would get hot so he didn't think it wouldn't be a problem. The wheel heats up so much after just a few minutes of driving, that it turns bright red. And yes, we did say only do what is necessary.....to make it safe and drivable. Not to just make it out of the parking lot and have it fail down the street. We asked more than once if he thought only doing the pads would be OK. We took him at his word, as he is the mechanic, that it would be. Yes, we did want to spend only as much as absolutely necessary because we had moving expenses to pay for, but that does not mean we should have been vaquely led to believe the vehicle would fine when clearly it is not. His employees showed concern over repair work, came and got him to look at it, he went out to check it, then came back in and informed us that it was no problem. I would like a refund or I will take this complaint to many other organizations as wellFinal Business Response I never told the customer that the caliper would not freeze up. In fact I told her the exact opposite. When my employee came to get me to check the repairs I came back to the customer and told them the caliper was tight and that it WOULD freeze up. They wanted a time frame and I couldn't give them one. I told them it could last a day or a month and I couldn't predict something like that. I suggessted that it be repaired, but was denied again cause they didn't want to spend the money. I have two witnesses that was sitting in the waiting room when I told them the caliper WOULD freeze. Also I have tried to contact the customer to address the issue , but ive been hung up on or either no answer.
