I am rejecting this response because: this is not the inspection in which was discussed or promisedPlease see attached inspection sheet that I was told that this is how ALL vehicles are inspected at this dealershipPlease provide this document, Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:this was provided by your internet sales teamYes, we bought this "AS IS", however used car dealerships need to be accountable for vehicles that they are returning to the roadOn the brakes, they were requested to be repaired prior to purchase as well as the repair and reset of the light that was on the dash-which half of it was doneThe other portion (brakes) was taken care of AFTER purchase by [redacted] In addition-your sales tethey were "honest" would have notified us of the river that poured from the sunroof- we couldn't figure out why it took so long to get our vehicle delivered from "detail"It's because of they were getting rid of any trace of water or dampness prior to deliveryThis was such an underhanded dealI am sure you are proud of this saleThis complaint stems from other issues that should have been done during inspectionWhen consumers purchase come to you; as a large, "professional" dealershput a lot of trust within thatThis experience has forever lost that trust and other consumers need to be aware before they purchase from a dealership that is not forthcoming, as in this case

All vehicles are inspected according to classificationThis was a high milage AS IS vehicle and was inspected accordinglyThe pror inspection sheet I provided you was what we usedWe do not use the sheet you provided with any of our vehiclesNot sure where that comes fromAgain, we have corrected the problems you brought to our attention even though this vehicle was sold as is we corrected themAt this time I feel the matter is closed

A special value inspection was completed on the *** XCon 7/22/with 120,miles on the vehicleThe brakes were inspected and a certified technician verified that the Brakes operated as designed with more than 2/pads remaining. On 8/13/This vehicle was sold AS ISIt is
hard to determine how many miles were added on to the brakes between the time of the vehicle delivery and when the brakes were replacedWithout being able to inspect the brakes that were replaced at another shop we are unable to verify the measurement on those brakes at the time of the incidentThe above statement mentions “When we test drove the vehicle, we noticed that the brakes needed replacing.” I am unable to locate an appointment or service record that reflects the customer returning to our business to have the brakes inspectedThe complaint gives me the feeling that the vehicle was delivered with the customer intention of returning to the dealership at a time of their convenience to inspect the brakes and chose to take delivery that day. On an unknown date the vehicle was driven to out of town after ”discussing and assured that they would be replaced” prior to bringing the vehicle back for a brake inspectionBeing a valued customer and even though we were not given the opportunity to evaluate the brakes we chose to reimburse the full amount of the brake replacement that was performed at another shop to get the *** home safely and take care of our customer. I was under the impression that all concerns were taken care of at the expense of the dealership and am unaware of what prompted the complaint months later

I am rejecting this response because:this was provided by your internet sales team. Yes, we bought this "AS IS", however used car dealerships need to be accountable for vehicles that they are returning to the road. On the brakes, they were requested to be repaired prior to purchase as well as the repair and reset of the light that was on the dash-which half of it was done. The other portion (brakes) was taken care of AFTER purchase by [redacted]. In addition-your sales team-if they were "honest" would have notified us of the river that poured from the sunroof- we couldn't figure out why it took so long to get our vehicle delivered from "detail". It's because of they were getting rid of any trace of water or dampness prior to delivery. This was such an underhanded deal. I am sure you are proud of this sale. This complaint stems from other issues that should have been done during inspection. When consumers purchase come to you; as a large, "professional" dealership-we put a lot of trust within that. This experience has forever lost that trust and other consumers need to be aware before they purchase from a dealership that is not forthcoming, as in this case.

Review: Though I selected repair issues, this involves much more than that-sales practices, consumer safety, etc.On 8/13/14, we purchased a used vehicle from this dealership we were told that this and all vehicles undergo a 100 point multi inspection. When we test drove the vehicle, we noticed that the brakes needed replacing. After discussing and assured that they would be replaced, we were confident in our purchase of a 2004 [redacted] CX90. However, that confidence was short lived on our trip to a little mountain retreat. On that winding mountain road our front brakes completely gave out. This put our lives and the lives of other travelers in danger! We were able to get them repaired by a shop in the town we were traveling to. This is not about money, this is about consumer safety and the deceptive practices employed by this dealership.Desired Settlement: I want this dealership to be responsible for the product (new and used) sold and actually do the inspections prior to having the inventory placed on the lot and provide myself(as well as future potential buyers) with the documented inspection. Whatever it takes to make this happen, including but not limited to, the review and/or sanctions on their Bureau of Automotive Repair license and their New/Used Dealership licenses. It is not okay to place profit/gain over the lives of consumers'!

A special value inspection was completed on the 2004 [redacted] XC90 on 7/22/2014 with 120,690 miles on the vehicle. The brakes were inspected and a certified technician verified that the Brakes operated as designed with more than 2/32 pads remaining. On 8/13/2014 This vehicle was sold AS IS. It is hard to determine how many miles were added on to the brakes between the time of the vehicle delivery and when the brakes were replaced. Without being able to inspect the brakes that were replaced at another shop we are unable to verify the measurement on those brakes at the time of the incident. The above statement mentions “When we test drove the vehicle, we noticed that the brakes needed replacing.” I am unable to locate an appointment or service record that reflects the customer returning to our business to have the brakes inspected. Being a valued customer and even though we were not given the opportunity to evaluate the brakes we chose to reimburse the full amount of the brake replacement that was performed at another shop to get the [redacted] home safely and take care of our customer. I was under the impression that all concerns were taken care of at the expense of the dealership and am unaware of what prompted the complaint 5 months later.

All vehicles are inspected according to classification. This was a high milage AS IS vehicle and was inspected accordingly. The pror inspection sheet I provided you was what we used. We do not use the sheet you provided with any of our vehicles. Not sure where that comes from. Again, we have corrected the problems you brought to our attention even though this vehicle was sold as is we corrected them. At this time I feel the matter is closed.
