The main water drain in my basement became clogged resulting in basement flood.
I called and hired MB Plumbing of New Brunswick, NJ to inspect and clear the drain by snaking it, which was done at cost of $187.25. A few hours after they left I phoned [redacted] of MB Plumbing to verify that drain was snaked to the street. He said yes, the drain was definitely snaked to the street.

A drain clog happened again resulting in water overflow from the basement toilet and from pit/trap valves in basement. I phoned [redacted] from MB Plumbing again and
he returned. He checked water flow and indicated that water flow was fine.
I again asked him to verify that the drain was snaked from the house to the street and this time he said no it was not, in contrast to his statement on January 17th.
He wanted and additional $125 to snake the drain pipe from the house to the street. I declined and told him he previously indicated this was done, which he denied. I also indicated any further work should be done at no cost, which he refused to do.

I called a different drain service with the proper camera equipment. This company examined both the drain in the house, as well as the drain-pipe from the house to the street. The camera clearly showed that tree roots were inside the drain-pipe between the house and the street, which I could see myself on the camera monitor. So, the real cause of the drain clog on January 17th and again on January 24th was a tree root blockage between the house and the street.
MB Plumbing (1) incorrectly diagnosed the drain clog problems of Jan 17 and Jan 24, (2) misrepresented their work on January 17 by claiming they snaked the drain from the house to the street, which was not done and (3) does not have the proper equipment to correctly analyze drain clogs, although they represent themselves as drain clog specialists.
I believe I am entitled to a full refund of the $187.25 paid to MB Plumbing on January 17,Desired Settlement: Full Refund of $187.25
