Initially when I contracted with this moving company, the owner (aka.Soloman or Ray M) seemed like a responsible business man. I received emergency assistance from Montgomery County due to a series of break in attempts at my former apartment on Lockwood Drive. The company was paid $40 per hour per mover and several other fees noted on the invoice.
First, the delivery drivers did not remove the heaviest item in my home which was a wooden dresser without my consent. So as we were leaving to pick up my new furniture, I notified the owner that his drivers told me they would come back to pick up the dresser before my move out date which was November 1st. When I attempted to contact the owner on the 30th and 1st asking him to have his crew to complete the move.
I was told that it would cost an additional $300.00 to take one dresser from the 4th floor on the elevator and put it in the bulk trash. The owner was unwilling to compromise or accept responsibility.
Second, I allowed one of the delivery men to pick out two rugs and two paintings. He decided to steal paintings and a lamp that belonged to me, stole my magic bullet blender and completely broke my squat magic exercise machine, broke an inexpensive mirror and scratched my living room table. The owner was given photo of the damages and has not made any effort to discuss how to deal with damages.
Thirdly, because I am on temporary disability on a limited income I had to go back to the unit that was and still is contaminated by black mold sleep on the floor on the 3rd and remove the dresser all by myself, causing me to be on bed rest for two and a half days due to allergy to the dangerous black mold and with severe back pain.
I tried to report the business to emergency services and was told there was nothing she could do. I responded to her that this is probably the reason they keep operating that way and I feel they need to be stopped.
Nothing is more upsetting than unloading your new things only to find missing items and they took a $40 tip
