MBHC, Inc Reviews (1)

MBHC technician caused ac/heating unit to burn up,I brought part MBHC came back to install.Billing is not agreeable. This is a copy of letter I sent to owner of MBHC 01//25/14 This is in reference to your bill (INVOICE XXXX-XXXXXX) $586.00 for work at [redacted]When I called for a Service Call, I was told it would be $85 per hourFirst call on 11/11/13 - heat not working / blower not coming on. Technician for unknown reasons made wiring changes and moved the thermostat too close to intake and in front of entry door. (left a hole and unpainted spot where unit belonged) and caused AC unit not to work. The blower was fixed and heat was working. Second call on 11/20/13 - called to come and fix the AC which stopped working after the first call. While trying to wire the AC, technician burned out the coils and blower motor - this was cause by numerous attempts to wire the AC ( I was there as he repeatedly tried to wire the unit and each time causing a burn smell which he would in turn switch the unit off and try again to wire correctly). This was done about 6 times including trying to wire with half-coil (cut the burn section off) then installed the half coil which cause blower motor to burnout when he turned the unit on again. I called to complain that the technician had damaged the unit (coils and motor) and [redacted] answered. I told him that I would purchase the parts but needed someone that was knowledgeable to come back and install the new parts and wire the AC correctly. He said he would send someone out and also said that he would work with me on the price due to all the problems caused by the technician. Third call on 12/2/13 - technician showed up to install the parts but did not know how to wire the unit so he called another technician, and the second technician completed work in less than 45 minutes - work done and unit working properly.I disagree with the charge of $586.00.I should not have to pay for the first and second call (same technician) as noted above. The 3rd call and 2nd technician should be the only charge that I should have to pay for. I bought the coil and blower motor to replace the parts your technician ruined, so the only charge I should be asked to pay would be for the installation of new parts and wiring so unit worked properly which took less than an hour. Also, if you want to be technical about this, I should be discounted or compensated for the cost of the coil and blower motor which your technician ruined. Also, due to the technician leaving the home without working heat, I had to provide housing for the tenant until issue was fixed on the 3rd call. If the price on the sequencer runs between $ 11- $ 25 why are charging $157 + $9 for wire which you used from old unit parts (charging for use of my own wire?) Also, on the first call, parts were removed that were still good and could be used again.Your technican keep my parts.- cost savings not reflected on the bill. I have called and spoke to [redacted] (owner) twice and once to someone else about the bill and all 3 times I have been told that they did not have the bill in front of them but would look up the information and get back to me, but instead I only receive another bill unchanged. Please call me on XXX-XXX-XXXX ASAP so we can review charges and hopefully come an amicable agreement... Thank youAfter sending this letter and making another call Only respondse from mbhc is another bill showing pass [redacted]Desired SettlementI'm willing to pay for 1 hr trip of $85. as per our phone quote. I brought all parts and wire that was used. My old parts (that are still good) were taken, I feel cost will cover cost of a sequencer (price runs between $ 11- $ 25 new).Business Response /[redacted]/on 11-11-2013 we were called with a no heat service call. we arrived the same day to check. Tech found a bad time delay relay and had to move thermostat due to wires burnt. 9 days later we were called back with not heat once again. Tech found blower motor and heat strips bad. If the tech had wired a component incorrectly then damage would have happening the first time the power was turned on. we believe that our tech did not cause issues with your system, the system is very old (original to the mobile home) electrical parts can go bad at any time, they can not be for told of failure. As far as the price of the parts, we do not buy our parts online, they are only OEM parts because we have to warranty them. believe it or not we pay a lot more then $15.00 for that time delay relay. This is not something my company would like to pursue any longer as we feel it is a he said/she said matter, so as of now you account with MBHC is cleared, you owe us nothing. The bill you referenced will be taken off our system.Thank You and have a blessed day.
