Review: My complaint # with MBNA is [redacted]. More than a month ago I paid my balance in full for 2 credit cards I had with MBNA. Since then I have had to call at least 10 times to clear up issues and spent hours on the phone with them and given dozens of people my info. It has been a nightmare. They have automatically debited and refunded my bank account twice before today and the last time I spoke with them was told there would be no further payments deducted from my bank account and we were all clear. I went online and closed the option for them to automatically debit my bank account. I closed my accounts with them. Today there were 2 more payments deducted from account again. Yet again I had to call and talk to 2 different people for an hour and was told "Oh, your automatic debit closure must not have been successful." We will refund you the $15 dollar payment but not the $45 interest accrual. I restated that I had been told the last time I spoke with them I was finished paying and there would be no further deductions from my acct. They then tried to tell me the disclosure that oh well we may have to make adjustments and there may be more money due. I said "For what? this balance has been paid off for more than a month. I refused to hear the rest of their BS and said I did not accept their "disclosure". I have paid on this credit cards, with a high interest rate, on time, for at least 7 years. They refused to work with me on the interest rate because I had too many loans -which were student loans!Desired Settlement: Because of the major hassle and unauthorized automatic debits from my bank account I request they refund that $45 dollars to my bank account. I would love for you to fine them if you can and have the government crack down on them further.
