Review: My implant has ruptured and I have had a reoccurring infection in the right breast, I have [redacted] Implants. My warranty is to replace the implant should I need a replacement. Since I have had a reoccurring infection, I do not wish to have new implants, and have been advised by my Dr., and surgeon, new implants would just continue to be a problem as far as the infection is concerned. Therefore, I am having them removed. I contacted [redacted] concerning my warranty, etc., and have been told, I received my implants prior to their 2002 policy change in bilateral reimbursement of the implant. I am disputing and complaining about this - I paid 1100.00 for 2 implants and have only requested half of that cost to be refunded to assist in the cost of the immediate surgery I am in need of. [redacted] claims I am not entitled to this since I had the implants pre 2002. I am disabled and on SS, it is an extreme hardship to have this procedure and I feel, regardless of when I got the implant, I am entitled to the cost. I can not get the implant and allow my surgeon to keep it, for a later sale, as the implant is registered to me. So, the replacement implant is of no value. [redacted] needs to honor their product and reimburse if a new implant is not desired. The implant ruptured, I have an infection, and [redacted] needs to do the right thing and assist in the removal of their failed product since infection is involved. They are not having to honor by giving me free implants and in turn will save the company money. I am only requesting 550.00 to be reimbursed, I am willing to submit any receipt of cost to them, or a letter from my Dr., that I must have surgery within the week as the infection is continually worsening. I am already having to play the entire cost of removing the left implant, they need to assist in the cost of removing the right implant. Regardless of when I received the implant, I am entitled to a free implant (which I do not want) therefore, reimbursement of monies paid should be no issue!

Review: Had a breast augmentation that has a 10 year warranty. July of 2013 my left implant ruptured through no fault of my own. I spoke to a plastic surgeon who tracked down my medical records from my previous surgery, and was advised by the surgeon that my warranty states if a rupture occurs, Allergan will replace both implants at no cost. I filed a claim after discussing this w/ the surgeon and Allergan is now stating they will only pay for the ruptured one and up to 1,200.00 for other one but I have to front 6,000.00 first and then after surgery they will send me the money for just the 1 ruptured implant. I have experienced pain and sickness and now have a hard lump the size of a baseball in my breast where the implant has ruptured. I advised Allergan of this issue and that I don't have 6,000.00 to put up front that the warranty stated that they would replace them at no cost. They pretty much said well you needed to upgrade the warranty for us to pay for both. I advised that is not what my surgeon said and if nothing is done and my health is at risk, I will have no other choice than to seek legal counsel. Allergan said if I do get an attorney they will just place my claim on a legal hold, and he advised he is going to make it clear that they will pay only for the ruptured side and up to 1,200.00 of medical cost only after I pay first. They don't care that their product ruptured for no reason and that I now have a hard lump in my breast as a result and will be unable to take care of it until I save 6,000.00 dollars, which will probably take 6 months or more to do.Desired Settlement: All I want is for them to back their product and warranty and pay for the replacements without me having to front the money first.
