Review: I contracted with McNeil Enterprises to paint the interior of my home. The job was done on March 29-30, 2013. On the 30th the painters were running behind and at 7:30 pm they finished painting the walls but said they had to leave because it was so late. They did not finish cutting in where the walls meet the ceilings and did not do any clean up. They also pointed out that a piece of crown molding at the top of the kitchen cupboards had come loose and they used masking tape to try to hold it in place. When I inspected it, it came off in my hands and I was not able to get it back into place. [redacted] called me the following Monday, April 1st, to get my credit card information to pay for the job. I gave that to him but explained how the crown molding needed to be fixed and they needed to come back out and finish painting where the walls meet the ceilings . [redacted] said they would come back out in a few days. I did not hear anything for 2 weeks so I called him back. He said they would not fix the crown molding because the painters claimed it was loose in the first place. He said he would send someone back out to finish the painting. It has now been 2 months since the original painting and I have not heard back from [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would either like to have McNeil Enterprises finish the painting job and repair the crown molding, to my satisfaction, or refund part of the contracted price of $2,243 so I can hire another contractor to finish the job.

I intend to settle this dispute as I feel that there is really no other way to appease the customer. The painters are extremely diligent and hard working, honest individuals. They are the ones who spoke up and made the homeowner aware that the crown moulding was loose. They could have totally ignored this and walked away but were honest enough to tell her that she had a maintenance issue which should be addressed. I do believe my employees when they tell me that they did not do any damage themselves and it was already pre-existing. They would have gladly done repair of this pre-existing condition if they had been equipped with proper tools and equipment. But there were hired as painters not carpenters or handymen. I am sorry that there were any hard feelings, but the customer is always right.
