MC2 Data Response • May 13, 2020

Our Customer Service system shows Janice visited our website and registered for a 5-day trial membership with recurring monthly billing of $39.97 until cancelled. After the trial period ended, the account would remain active and accessible to the customer on a monthly basis for $39.97 per month, until she elected to cancel the account. Customers may cancel their account at any time and immediately stop future billing. Cancellations are very easy to process, including calling our Customer Service department and speaking with a live representative 7 days per week, leaving us a voice mail, or by sending us an email. Cancellations are processed immediately upon receipt. She did not contact us or submit a cancellation request until 5/13/2020 when she called our Customer Service department and requested a refund. From that call, we already refunded the account and had let her know. We emphasize this account purchase and billings were valid and conducted per the customer's purchase terms. By having already issued the full refund, we consider this issue closed.

they keep charging me and taking $39.97 out of my account and I am unable to contact them to find out why they keep doing this even though I am not using this service. I only signed up for the $1.00 one time search there was nothing stated about a reoccurring charge of any type. thank you.

Senior citizen on fixed income. They got me for $39.99. Free trial is 48 hrs. Read the small print.

Horrible data and even worse experience. They offer 100% satisfaction guarantee but the only thing they truly guarantee is they will charge your credit card every month $39.97 even if you never return to their site after an initial records search and report. They would only credit us back one month when we did call, and would not honor their 100% satisfaction guarantee to refund the prior month with ZERO activity. We will be sending certified letter to them and copying State Attorney Generals Office in FL to report this.

Be careful of this company. They advertise they charge $1.00 per search, but hide the $39.97 they actually charge you.

Hello there are several issues with this company. First I did a google search for private records on myself because I needed some information. The cost was one dollar which I paid. No where did I gree to pay a 39.97 fee and the information received was totally incorrect. They advertise divorce records and there was nothing there in addition to grossly inaccurate information. When I saw the additional charge I immediately contacted my bank who cancelled my debit card. I was issued a new one. I contacted the company and was offended by their replies and their refusal to refund monies I did not authorize. No where on their page does it list that information so it is sneaky and poor business practice. I want the fee refunded to me and I want them to make the information available at the beginning I NEVER click any button to agree to such on any website.

Thank you

Dear Revdex.com, thank you for sending ***'s comments. We have researched the account history and found the account registration and charges were valid. There is no indication of fraud.

According to our records, the account was created on 2/3/2020. As part of the registration process, the customer agreed to be billed a one-time trial membership fee of $1.00, as well as a monthly recurring membership fee of $39.97 until the account is cancelled. Upon registration, each member is sent a welcome email which confirms the account is active, provides the membership site log on information, reiterates keys terms of the membership and provides the date when the trial ends so the customer is clear on when they should cancel to avoid further billing.

Customers may cancel their account at any time and immediately stop future billing. Cancellations are very easy to process, including calling our Customer Service department and speaking with a live representative 7 days per week, leaving us a voice mail, or by sending us an email. Cancellations are processed immediately upon receipt. She did not contact us or submit a cancellation request until 2/6/2020. The account was cancelled and as a courtesy, we had already provided a $39.97 credit to her account yesterday on 2/11/2020. She should see that post within 3-5 business days. By issuing the full refund, we consider this issue closed.

to me, Ms
This is not acceptable. I DID NOT APPROVE THAT CHARGE. My bank is also reviewing and I did receive an email after filing that I was getting my full refund. They do not state anything clearly and it is all hidden. Again, I am a highly educated individual and I know how to read. That was not on their website. Period. So you want my response? Their answer is unacceptable. I will wait to see if I receive the refund they promised and if I don't I will take the matter to my attorney.

Thanks

*** requested a refund of all charges. We do not understand why she did not contact us earlier to cancel her account while it remained open and billable, if she no longer intended to maintain the account.

We processed as a courtesy, a refund for $39.97. We emphasize this account purchase and billings were valid and conducted per the customer's purchase terms.

By issuing the full refund, we consider this issue closed. Thank you.

Thank you for notifying us of this customer's complaint. We would like to share the information we found regarding customer's account. According to our records, the account was created on 8-25-2019. As part of the registration process, the customer agreed to be billed a one time trial membership fee of $1.00 as well as a monthly recurring membership fee until the account is cancelled. Our pricing information and terms are clearly displayed on our registration page, and we require each member to agree to the terms of use and pricing information, prior to registering the account. A welcome email is sent to every member upon registration, confirming the account is active, and providing the website login information.

Our welcome email also includes the trial expiration date so the member will know exactly when to cancel; if they do not wish to be billed after the trial expires. Additionally, our customer service department offers live phone support 7 days a week.

The customer emailed us about their account on X-XX-XXXX and we refunded $39.97 the same day and let the customer know. It is unfortunate that the customer still filed a complaint but as we already provided a refund and cancelled the customer's account, we consider this complaint resolved.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
a refund is pending in my checking acct. the charge posted but the refund is still pending. can you make them post it? a hurricane is coming right at me and I have zero money. no cash at all!

I checked my information on this website and found they reported an eviction fraudulently. This eviction was supposed from *** reported 3/2010. I left this apartment on 8/1/2010 when my lease expired in good standing. I was not evicted. I told this to the representative at Private Records on July 30, 2019 and he said they had no control over the information on their website! And I had to remove it, they couldn't. They sent me a link after I requested it twice and it did not delete the information.

Also, there is a bankruptcy that I filed in 2006 on my record. When I filed the bankruptcy, my bankruptcy attorney told me it would be off my record in 7 years, which is 2013. Therefore, reporting this on their website is also fraudulent. When I told this to the PrivateRecords representative on July 30, again he said they have no control over what appears on their website!

I would like this information deleted from my record by PrivateRecords.net and I would like to be able to enter the site in order to verify that it was deleted.
Product_Or_Service: Information data

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I would like the eviction and the bankruptcy removed from the PrivateRecords.net website by PrivateRecords. It is fraud and they should be held responsible. Also I would like to be able to enter the privaterecords.net website to verify the bankruptcy and eviction data was deleted. They said I had to remove my complete record, which is ridiculous. What if I had an old friend or relative trying to reach me? Taking my complete record down would not allow them to contact me.

We've previously removed information about the Ms. M when she provided it to us on August 12, 2019.

She cites other names she has used but did not provide them. We suggest using our normal method to remove information which is a link in the footer of our website named "Remove my info". You do a search, select yourself and you are able to remove your own information. The direct link is the following.
