Upon receiving the written complaint referenced above, we researched to...

customers facts and did, in fact, make a delivery without authorization on 2-1 1-14. This was a mistake caused by our internal process and hopefully we have resolved that issue. Our fuel dispatcher did offer to reduce the price significantly and extend payment terms because it was our error and removing the fuel during the heating season isn‘t the best option due to needing more fuel before the end of the season.
The customer has not contacted us since. I attempted to contact the customer as well the week you were on vacation to offer the removal of the fuel, but was only able to leave a voice mail. As of today, the customer has not returned the call.
We are still ready to offer two options to the customer to resolve this complaint. We just need to know which direction to proceed. We can offer a substantially reduced rate for the fuel or remove the fuel that was delivered.
Please contact me if there are any questions or additional information is necessary.
Sincerely, McALLISTER...The Service Company

Had a recent misunderstanding about service provided by them. After reviewing the entire situation, I found them focused upon customer satisfaction and upon how they could use this bad customer experience as an improvement oppty. I will use them again. BTW, the service was performed professionally and efficiently.

[redacted] came out and cleaned and tuned up my oil furnace on 1/3/16.He did an unbelievable job.
He took his time, was thorough and exceptionally clean. He really know his stuff.
It was a pleasure having such an exceptional employee in my home to take care of my heating needs.
Hope to have him back next time we need service. Thanks again.

Review: I have been a customer of McAllister since 2010 for the purposes of supplying my residential home with Heating Oil. I am an 'at-will' customer for purposes of oil delivery - they will only deliver when I call and place an order. I am NOT under any contract for automatic delivery and never have been. I have always ordered 'At-Will'. I will fill my oil tank up towards the end of the summer for the winter and by Jan-Feb I place an additional order for an additional order (usually 100 gallons) which lasts me through the winter. On three separate occasions in the last three years, I have received additional deliveries that I did not order within a week to 10 days following the delivery of the actual order I placed. In Jan 2012 a McAllister delivery truck pulled up to my home with a ticket to deliver 100 gallons of heating oil. I was home at the time and was able to stop the delivery person before he put more than a few gallons in the tank. I explained to the driver that I had just ordered the previous week and did not order a second time-he suggested it was an error. I paid for what was delivered and chalked it up to a mistake. In Feb 2013, I came home to a delivery ticket on my door for 100 gallons I had not ordered. I contacted McAllister to complain, again they suggested it was an oversight - I ultimately paid the bill for that erroneous delivery. On Jan 30, 2014 I placed an order for 100 gallons which was delivered on Jan 31, 2014 and paid the bill in-full via [redacted] on Feb 6th. On Feb 11, 2014 I find a new delivery ticket on my door for another 100 gallons that was delivered that day that I did not order. these deliveries occur while I am at work and thus unable to refuse relieved. One mistake is understandable, two is questionable, but three erroneous deliveries is highly suspicious. I don't know if its gross incompetence or something more.Desired Settlement: As stated previously I am not currently, nor have I ever been, under contract with McAllister for automatic home heating oil delivery, I have always been 'At-Will'. I would like for McAllister to either 1) remove the erroneous delivery of 100 gallons from my storage tank, or 2) forgive the amount due to them for the erroneous delivery. I will not be financially impacted by their incompetence or malfeasance.

Review: July 2013 McAllister came out to provide a quote to replace a part on our heat pump unit. The quoted price was (approximately) $800 - price included the installation. The part was included under the [redacted] warrenty for that heat pump. Once the work was completed, the final price included the part for the heat pump that should have been included as it was covered under warranty. Calls were made to McAllister questioning this and they have been uncooperative with no explanation and no return phone calls. Per my original quote and the final payment receipts (husband paid when I wasn't present) Mcallister is responsible for remitting approximately $370 for the cost that was covered under the warranty.Desired Settlement: The reimbursement of the amount pd ($370 roughly) that should have been covered under the [redacted] parts warranty.

Response:

Mrs. [redacted] contacted our office on 7/29/13 and requested a service call because the air conditioning was not functioning in her home. McAllister arrived at the property on 7/29/18 and found the system to be low on refrigerant. This condition was caused by a leak ln a deteriorated accumulator tank that is located inside the outdoor condensing unit. Cost of this call was $79.00 plus NJ sales tax.

Mrs. [redacted] was quoted $367.00 for the replacement accumulator and an additional $670.00 for labor & materials to install the new accumulator and recharge the system with refrigerant. Total cost $1037.00 plus NJ sales tax.

Subsequently Mrs, [redacted] notified McAllister that the unit was still under the manufactures warranty and that she also had an additional warranty with [redacted] that would cover the repair.

McAllister confirmed with the manufacturer that the accumulator was still in warranty and explained to Mrs. [redacted] that the manufacturer would supply a new accumulator at no charge. However shipping charges labor and materials needed to complete the repair would be additional. Repair costs also include our clerical staff's time to process paperwork that is required with all warranty transactions. The new cost of the repair would be $925.00 plus NJ sales tax. Mrs. [redacted] was also informed that McAlllster would only accept payment from her and not the home warranty company.

Mr. [redacted] called McAllister on 8/7/13 and wanted to schedule therepair of the air conditioning system. Mr‘ [redacted] was reminded that McAllister does not deal with home warranty companies and the cost of the repair was $925.00 plus NJ sales tax. Mr. [redacted] stated that he understood and he just wanted to get the air conditioning system repaired. The repair was completed on 8/9/13 and paid in full by credit card.

Although it has been almost four months since the repair was completed. McAllister Is

available to discuss the details of the repair with the Home Warranty Company to help the [redacted]‘s seek reimbursement for their expense.

Very truly yours,

[redacted] McAllister
