would look at the schedule to squeeze her inI contacted her shortly afterwards and found a few days I could get the project in on This project was given a deposit on Nov.23rd for an outdoor roof coverwe started the job Dec.2nd due to Thanksgiving weekend and the rain which prevented us from putting post in the ground in order to have the concrete cure properly On Thursday Dec3rd Ms [redacted] stated that the original installer bailed on her and she needed someone to install her front doorI gave her my price as I did for the roof cover and she ask if I could come down a little bit to meet her budgetI made an exception and said yes and gave her bid for the door install and a bid for a painter afterwardsIn order to save her material cost she insisted that we use all the old trim and if I couldn't break while taking it outAs I did Once we removed Ms [redacted] door we found that the last installer had put the bas plate below floor level and was seated properly and had rotted outI installed a new pressure treated base plate and raised it to the proper level and sealed it in to prevent any more moisture damageMs [redacted] had purchased all her own material and as a result she also got the wrong jamb size for her doorShe had a 1/inch instead of a inch and resulted in me making a custom jamb extension on siteA install that was suppose to be hrs turned into a hr job We had an extra in labor and around in materials that was never compensated forAfter the door was plum and level we found that her walls were almost inch out of level and could be due to her pier and beam home having the ground shifting underneath After we had the door complete at 7pm at night and had been working in the dark, we neatly stacked all left over and trashed to the side yard next to a fence not in her drivewayI stated in a text message to her that we pick up trash from all our work sites once a week and would get it by the end of the week which we did today Friday the 11th and job was completed on Monday the 7th Ms [redacted] text me on Wednesday and ask for the status of a painterWe had talked about this Monday evening and told her I would let her know when I can get a painter over their I woke up Thursday morning to a very nasty voicemail stating that their was sunshine under her door coming threwI advised her that it was a minor adjustment with the adjustable threshold comes with on the doorstheir was no need for alarm as this door was raised inch above outdoor grade and level with interior floors and was seated properly to avoid any moistureShe also inquired about the painter again and ask me if she should find another painter since she needed this done right away and could not waitI advised her that she should seek out another painter and I would no longer be doing business with her on any more projects do to the voicemail I had received She was never charged with any paintingsHer scraps were picked up today and had she had any patients at all the minor adjustment on her threshold could of been taken care of today as wellGeneral punch work is always rescheduled with a week of someone calling it inMore critical the punch the faster it gets doneminor adjustment on a threshold is not critical by all means and their was no way water was going to get in My business practice has always been to contact the customer back within business day of receiving a text, email or phone callI also prefer to use text and email so we can all have documentation of our conversations, in which is a great tool for homeowners as well as my self so we can always go back and reflect on any misunderstandings I am a small company and I work in the field doing the work and home visits 7am to 7pm M-FFrom 8pm to sometime 1am I am responding to email, doing bids, invoicing and accountingHint its 4am and I am writing this Ms [redacted] phone call came on Wednesday the day I took my wife out for our anniversary to go to the Trans Siberian Orchestra and responded 160worth of labor and material never compensated forInstalling her hardy boards she wants now outside would be considered a change order and I am no longer working for her so my advise would be to seek another contractor who can install your trim and paint your door for Best Regards, [redacted]

The work I was paid for was completed and then someTrash has been hauled away as stated I would and at this point I would feel it's best that we don't work together on anymore project that homeowner may haveI would think as she stated in her text that she will hire someone else for future work as wellNot sure why this is still an ongoing issue

The homeowner was aware that a permit is required and chose to option was I told her a permit would take weeks to get and would probably get denied because of how close the structure was to property line. This business is no longer a business. I went to go work for a franchise. Instruction company....

I have nothing good to do with this lady any more. She was aware and now is trying to back peddle to cover her quick decision cause she wanted to sell the home. This will be my last response on anything to do with her

The work I was paid for was completed and then some. Trash has been hauled away as stated I would and at this point I would feel it's best that we don't work together on anymore project that homeowner may have. I would think as she stated in her text that she will hire someone else for future work as well. Not sure why this is still an ongoing issue.
