McCarran Auto Body

McCarran Auto Body is contracted with insurance companies to assess and repair damages, and at least in my case they do it in a very underhanded way. When I dropped off my vehicle I was told to sign a blank document by [redacted], one of the owners, for an appraisal of damages. The body shop then started working on repairs to my vehicle before notifying me, which they did by sending me a text message with pictures of my truck in pieces and already sanded for painting.I was going to take it to another body shop for the work, but couldn't because by the time I found out they had stripped the truck down and ordered parts already. They kept working on the truck, saying they received approval from the insurance company, even when I told them to stop![redacted] told me on the phone they couldn't match the paint on the truck, and that he purposefully didn't add part of the damages on the inspection report because he said the insurance company wouldn't approve the repairs (that he was estimating), but refused to put anything in writing, even telling me to leave the premises when I showed up asking for documentation. When I went to pick up the truck I found out he had added work on top of what was paid for by insurance, and held my truck hostage to the additional charges refusing to release the vehicle to me. McCarran Auto Body forged authorization documentation, showed underhanded dealings by avoiding authorization for work from the vehicle owner, falsely represented insurance documentation as approval for work when it clearly states on the document that it is not, and him and his wife both became aggressive when confronted with an unhappy vehicle owner. Since McCarran Auto Body lacks either the skills or the tools to properly fix the vehicle to pre-loss condition, they are forcing me to research ways to redo the repairs and will likely cost thousands in additional work to fix theirs. The truck is currently at another body shop to determine what will be needed to fix it to pre-loss condition. McCarran Auto Body received money for work that was not authorized, by myself or by the insurance company. Because of the difficulty retrieving my vehicle, I will not return it to MAB to get the problems fixed. I would like McCarran Auto Body to reimburse me so I can pay for the repairs to the truck. A revised Estimate was sent to him with an estimated completion date. We updated him every day with texts & calls. He was sent adaily progress photo of vehicle being repaired beginning to end. As Vehicle was being repaired He was able to watch thru the autowatch software. vehicle was non standard delivery & had to be inspected by 2 certified collision repair facilities & An independant appraiser, All agree the repair is quality. [redacted] was removed by police on 2 occasions,The problem is not here. there is no problem with our Customer Service, The problem is the Customer.I thought it very strange one day before completion he claimed he did not autorize repair, & he only wanted an estimate, And has been in a rental vehicle for aprox 18 days[redacted]
