Mike [redacted]

My husband and I are the consumers and we agree to what McCarthy offered; however, until all documents are signed and the vehicle is paid off, I would like for it to remain tentatively resolved since we have had a lot of run around from the dealership in the past several months and want to ensure it is fully settled this time. ***

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:On 10/31/14 directly BEFORE I signed the financial documents to purchase the 2015 2500hd that I now own, I asked James [redacted] (Finance Mgr.) how/why the "Base model price" on the contract increased to $45,997.00 (see attached) because I had brought in a printed advertisement for this vehicle (see attached) that listed a "Final Price" of $42,697.00.  Mr. [redacted] could not answer my question, so Joe [redacted] (Sales Mgr.) was called into the office.  Upon arrival, I posed the exact same question to Mr. [redacted].  After studying the contract for quite some time, he responded, "We had to add Tax and Destination charges to that".  Since I knew I had to pay taxes on the vehicle, I went ahead and signed the contract to purchase the vehicle for their inflated price even though it was contradictory to their advertised "Final Price".  That weekend after studying the contracts they had presented to me to purchase this vehicle, I noticed that Mr. [redacted] had lied to me and given me incorrect information when he stated taxes and destination charges were added to the base model price.  I know this is incorrect because the sales tax isn't supposed to be added to that amount to come up with the base model price.  Additionally, the destination charge ($1,195.00) was supposed to be part of the $6.418.00 in "discounts" as shown on their advertisement.  Therefore, I went back to their dealership the very next business day on 11/3/14 to confront Mr. [redacted] about his lies.  I immediately presented the advertisement of my vehicle to him and told him sales tax and destination charges were not supposed to be added into the base model price and presented the advertisement to him along with the contract.  After looking over the documents he then told me a $2,000.00 rebate and $1,195.00 destination charge were added to the base model price and not sales tax!  I told him that the destination charge was supposed to be part of the "discounts" in their advertisement.  He then flipped to the second page of the ad where is says, "Comments and Reviews" and pointed to what he called a "Disclosure".
As for their General Mgr., Ryan McCarthy calling me two times and me not calling him back, this is a complete falsehood!  Ryan McCarthy called me on 11/14/14 at 2:39pm and left me a voice message requesting I return his call at work and left the phone number of, [redacted].  Immediately after receiving his voice message, I called him back at the dealership phone number he requested and left him a voice mail message but Mr. McCarthy never returned my phone call.  I called him again on 11/18/14 at 12:59pm, left Ryan McCarthy another voice message to return my call and I never heard back from him.  After that, I filed this complaint.
Clearly this is false advertisement in my opinion.  It is simply unethical and probably illegal to publicly advertise a specific vehicle with a "Final Price" and then not give that price to the customer.
Regards,[redacted]
