Review: My husband and I lived at this residence with our 2 dogs for 1.5 years. We paid $ 400 pet deposit and $ 555 security deposit down. When we left, we left the place spotless and ready for new tenants to move in when we left. We cleaned the place leaving no pet hair or anything behind. For 2 months I have called off and on to see if they have checked the condition so we could get our security deposit back. I was informed person wasn't available and hadn't checked it. We had to leave everything shut up when we left because it isn't the greatest area to live in and people would break in if a window is left open. We have had to smell and deal with marijuana the whole time we have lived there because the tenants above us smoked it constantly. We have complained over and over about the smell of that to management which they have done nothing about. Now they will not give us all or any of our deposit back because of the smell of our apartment. First off we left it best we could with no smells. They left the apartment sitting closed up for 2 months and with the pot smoking people upstairs doesnt help. I even put the glade baking soda stuff with smells down on the carpet. I have 3 witnesses who stopped in to see if we needed any help moving and none of those people smelled anything in the house because I asked them. I wanted to make sure we did everything we could to get that money back to be able to move to a more safer environment. My husband has cerebral palsy and I work constantly trying to make things meet and pay the bills. We really need this money back to help out. If management had checked the apartment sooner and not left it shut up their would not have been an odor. I was told that they had 45 days to inspect it. So I have called off and on, finally they tell me after 2 months that we weren't getting it back. I mean every place needs to have doors or windows opened occasionally. When we moved in it wasnt new carpet or anything, it was a rental. We left it in just as good or better condition when we left.Desired Settlement: Would like to have all/some of the security deposit back if possible.

Dear Revdex.com of Western Virginia,Oglesby Management Group, Inc. apologizes for the delay in refunding the security deposit for Mr. and Mrs. [redacted]. One of our other properties experienced a fire on April 5, 2016. We had 12 displaced residents. Luckily, no one was injured. The fire was on the news. It took place at [redacted] in [redacted]. The experience was extremely taxing on our small staff. We had to move a lot of people around in a very short period of time. The security deposit was overlooked.I do have to argue that the security deposit held by the Landlord was only $300.00, not $555.00. Also, the pet fees of $400.00 are non-refundable. Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] paid one of the $200.00 pet fees upfront, then acquired another dog, which required an additional $200.00 pet fee. The lease is attached for your review. Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] gave no forwarding address. I have the security deposit check of $300.00 at our office location ready for them to pick up.
