[redacted] was very easy to work with. He supplied the materials on time and did a outstanding job for me in Deltaville. I have used him twice to renovate two houses. He also has built a 1.5 Million dollar home right up the street. One thing about McLellen Construction, He will come back 50 times and fix whatever it is until your satisfied. [redacted].

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
The reply from Jim M[redacted] does not surprise us. It’s the typical Contractor & employees trying to save face by being very untruthful again! It’s obvious they will not be honest. We have nothing to lie about & wouldn’t be posting this complaint if the job was completed as quoted & ESPECIALLY if we didn’t have leaking issues (again) amongst the other issues that were hidden, lied about & never disclosed to us until we confronted them. There are other occasions/issues that I didn’t post in my original Revdex.com complaint due to lack of space provided on the Revdex.com website. The accusations about alcohol & us are merely accusations. Did we get very vocal & loud, yes we did but rightfully so, our roof is still leaking! We are very upset! We can also make accusations about Jim’s employees appearing/acting like they were on some sort of substance abuse. The last employee that came to the house with (employee/son) Troy appeared to be on something. I’ve addressed each of Jim’s replies: If Troy recorded everything then it should be repeated as recorded. The quotes are NOT accurate, I was right there. It’s obviously a moot point to go in to further details in this forum. However, what is accurate is our roof is STILL leaking & Troy took no responsibility for it AGAIN. He pointed the finger to other things, exactly like every other complaint we had until we mandated Jim come to the job each complaint. Jim agreed with our complaints almost every time & made Troy fix every one of them! Jim even pointed out other issues for Troy to fix. As for conversations I had with the L&I Inspector, I won’t go into those details right now either but I will say there were multiple ‘corrections’ cited to be fixed…this is fact & has nothing to do with our discussions with our very reliable, top quality  roofing contractor friends In West. WA. As for job site cleaned daily…we wished we would have kept & took pictures of every roof nail, screw, metal scraps, plastic bottles, cigarette butts, plastic wrap, etc that we picked up. The job site was NOT cleaned/secured daily!  After months of this, we had to call Jim to tell them to come remove garbage & cleanup site so our company wouldn’t see it. As for amount of hours worked, we understand weather issues but March – June are not real hot months. We know exactly what days we were there & allot of those days they were not there or were for 4 hours or less. People in the neighborhood even commented “they were there a few hours & not back for days”. As for the shattered skylight, his statements are flat out lies! I don’t have enough space to type everything I need to say! I mandated Jim come with Troy to pay me for new microwave (Troy didn’t even know how to count the cash to me, Jim had to do it). At this time we confronted them the garbage bag of glass pieces we cleaned up under the range (& other places on the floor) & by the expressions on both of their faces it was obvious that Jim knew NOTHING about it! After I asked Troy how he broke it, he stood right there & told all of us ‘he dropped a tool on it”. Jim’s last comment when they left was ‘it’s going to be a long, quiet drive home’. And Jim has the gall to say “I cannot say how the glass got broken”?! There were days/weeks between Troy breaking the skylight, us finding the broken glass & disclosing it to them. AND for them to say ‘they didn’t have a contact phone # for us’!!?? Jim has had my cell # since my initial contact with him in March 2016!! Again, they were in our house without our permission to hide the evidence & who knows what else they snooped through!? As for the ruined microwave, there was no mention by Jim or Troy that they wanted the microwave until they came to pay us for the new one. I was there when the repairman removed the flooded one & there was massive water that ran out of the unit at that time. Not to mention the handful of roofing nails he took out of the top of the unit. The microwave no longer worked! I told him to take it & discard it. As for Jim saying ‘he would be on the site daily’, at the time he quoted/contracted the job, I SPECIFICALLY asked him this. He NEVER once said ‘it means my employees will be there daily’…his employees were NOT there every day either, hence the job taking 5 months instead of 3 weeks! In fact, Jim said: ‘even if I sit in my truck on the road & point out things to my guys, I will be there’! We’d like to hear Jim’s lie about why we didn’t get the Fabral Roof Metal as he quoted & contracted. Instead I found out when I received the Metal Warranty for Taylor Metal & called ABR asking why not Fabral. We too would love to sit down with Revdex.com, Jim & his employees to discuss this whole nightmare but I refuse to sit & listen to non-stop lies. Please let me know date, time & location that works best for all of us. We have a 6 figure digit potential loss on our hands & McClellan  Construction has none right now. But I will say this, our home owners insurance will not pay for any damages due to this roof.
Sincerely,[redacted]

Good Morning,
I  am responding to the complaint filed by [redacted].
My warranty on my roof’s are as long as the person owns the house and I always honor my warranty as I did with her one complaint. We were there the next day and walked into an angry environment. When my employee...

got up on the roof to examine the area in question, he was not able to see any visible area for leaks. He was attempting to talk with [redacted] about the Vents possibly having water intrusion caused by winds. This is when [redacted] starting calling people names and saying your lying ect. At this point [redacted] was told my employees were leaving because of hostile environment. [redacted] told my employee he could not leave until he talked to [redacted]. My employee should have left at the time of raised voices and name calling. As he went into the house to talk with [redacted] the conversation as usual changed to anger and as my employee informed them he was leaving [redacted] pushed his fist into the employees chest preventing him from leaving and was told he was not leaving until this was fixed. Another employee stepped up on the front porch and told [redacted] “to let my boss go we are leaving”. At this point [redacted] moved from one employee to the other one and told him “he would whip his as also.” As the employees moved to load up and depart [redacted] once again became anger and told the employees they could not leave. At this time [redacted] was informed he was being recorded and his comment was I don’t care. Once he was told of the recording he calmed down. At this point [redacted] told my employee to change the Vent if he thought that was the issue. He did not change the vent, as he knows to leave a hostile environment. My employees left and located a Deputy Sheriff and filed an incident report. I have not made any attempt to return to the premises until I am assured that further incidents will not occur. My Warranty has always been in place it was interrupted by the complainants.  There have been 5 major clashes of anger from these folks to the point of leaving the job site twice. Alcohol has sometimes be the cause of these issues by [redacted] most of the time. Two of the times comments that are classed as name calling and threats of physical involvement.
At one point as per home owner we installed items in a way that was not to standard of building code and she was informed by the L&I Inspector that if the contractor installs this he will be cited. The house has passed the inspection required by the state of Washington and has been done to the requirements set by the State. Their friends are not the one who I have to answer to on proper installation.

This has gone on for the length of this project and I can answer all issues listed in her complaint.
1.      Job site was cleaned the same way all jobsites are cleaned. All large trash picked up daily. Major clean-up at the end of job, normal way of doing business. My employees have all been instructed in securing there cigarette butts.
2.      The amount of hours worked each day is controlled by Temperature on the roof not a fixed schedule.
3.      Skylight enter glass broke and fell into house while working around the area, the outer glass was still together and one of my employees noticed the broken glass in the kitchen. I can not say how the glass got broken, but one of my employees pulled the remaining skylight with the outer glass intact and tried to clean up the mess. They did not have any phone numbers to homeowner and with storms and weather always around we wanted to secure home.
4.      Replaced microwave that was supposed to be damaged. I told them to keep the other microwave since I was paying for the new one. It was supposedly given to Lowe’s because they had to take the old one. After checking with Lowe’s and was informed that would have been the choice to take or leave, so I don’t know where the old on ended up.
5.      As the owner of my company when I say “I will be there every day” means my employees who represent the company will be there.

I have been in business for many years, but since 2006 in the State of Washington. I take pride in treating my customers with the utmost respect. In this case this should work both ways but did not in these issues. I will be glad to talk with your representatives about this issue. I have not included all of the issues with these home owner, but would gladly provide your representative with a time for my employees to sit down and discuss this job and home owner.
