fiberglass coping, cantilever-edged deck and concrete coping and explained the differences including the price of each. The [redacted]'s decided on the least expensive fiberglass coping. Just before we poured the concrete deck, they looked at a pool we just finished less than a mile from their home and changed their mind to a cantilever-edged deck and added more concrete and fence. There was never a mention about concrete coping edge since that was the most expensive option.
The 2" gel coat crack in the step is a cosmetic issue, not a structural one. Fortunately these cracks hardly ever occur and have nothing to do with the installation.
