Having read the complaint reference #***, I believe I recall a phone conversation with *** *** on this issue, who it appears now lives in ***While it is extremely rare that Hawthorne Chevrolet ever receives word of an unresolved sales or service issue, in the best interest of our
customers, we always work to resolve it quicklyIn this case, I’m at a disadvantage as being able to corroborate the details of the claims made in the statement that relate to the initial transactionCustomer states he dealt with Sales Manager Tim M*** during the process, which admittedly took place in December of For his tenure, MrM*** was employed here as internet sales, and I was actually the General Sales Manager here at that time (I am now the General Manager.) I had no direct contact with *** *** and MrM*** is no longer here, so we cannot consult with him as to any verbal assertions he may or may not have made with regard to warranty start dateIn reviewing the actual signed documentation, in the phone conversation I had with *** *** recently, I confirmed with him that all of the docs in our records indicated a transaction date of 12/31/I also advised him that in many cases, since the Truck is warranted by the manufacturer and not a dealer, since his issue occurred so close to the warranty expiration date, that often the manufacturer will honor the warranty in a goodwill gesture to the customer, which he acknowledges in the written complaintWe are certainly glad to hear Chevrolet gave him the consideration, as we are at a disadvantage again, given that he now is located in ***Lastly, customer is seeking monetary reimbursement from us on items that should be covered by the manufacturer if in fact they are warranty items at allWe don’t know that, since there is no supporting documentation of the items“Programming issues” and “remaining warranty issues” are referenced, but not detailedIf those are perhaps for a key, or radio re-flash of programming, those items are most likely not warranted in any caseIn short, we are not approving writing a check to another dealership who is now the dealer of convenience and choice of the customer, and who should now be the customer advocate for warranty consideration from Chevrolet from this point forwardAnd we’re not approving undocumented reimbursement, as I’m sure you would determine on your own, especially when no evidence is provided of what we’re being asked to payAgain, we request the Revdex.com to consider the exemplary record this establishment has established in customer satisfaction since Regards, Jeffery M*** General Manager/National Elite Leaders Recipient Hawthorne Chevrolet *** *** *** *** ** *** *** *** *** ***

Please be advised that the customer was well aware of this vehicle being swapped in from Virginia he chose to get the 1% finance rate and sign the paperwork before the vehicle was in house. In order to placate customer a check was sent to him and he is very happy now

Here’s what I sent to *** *** to address his latest concerns on the Revdex.com matter, if you’d like to cut, paste, and forward it along to themHe’s in possession of this proposed resolution. Thanks, Jeff *** The single relevant document you provided (thank you) is the copy of the service repair order that provides a detailed listing of the nature of their charges.I looked over each service RO line, and just to get a clarification, sent the RO to our service director who examined it and provided expert observations. It does appear that the dealership in *** took care of all recall-related items at no charge to you, and provided additional good will from Chevrolet in the form of covering all but $of the seat track issueBeing so close to the warranty date, to be candid, the $deductible is something arbitrarily the dealer charges a consumerHere, in an instance like this, we usually do not assign a deductible charge to our customer. Regarding the other items, the labor charge to diagnose a water leak that they could not find would not be a warranty item at all, unless there actually was a leak, which they stated on the RO that the leak could not be replicatedIn addition, their “environmental fee” they charge of $is not warrantableThat fee, in addition to estimated diagnosis cost disclosures typically take place prior to starting the work, with approval from the customer as to which costs he/she will pay for directlyFrom any perspective, those charges are not subject to terms that would have been covered by warranty before or after the warranty expiration date, so there’s no way Hawthorne Chevy could be held liable for those. That $deductible charge is the one expense that would fall into the warranty category within the warranty periodI will authorize that amount to be paid as a reimbursement from Hawthorne Chevrolet to youUpon your acceptance, the understanding will include an agreement to release any and all future claims to the stated expenses in the attached RO, closing the Revdex.com case in writing, and an agreement not to post any negative reviews against Hawthorne Chevrolet on line regarding this matterI look forward to your response toward the sincere effort to close the matter.
