McCrea Heating & Air Conditioning Services of VA

Review: After calling the company several times throughout the day and waiting almost 8 hours for the technician to actually arrive at our residence, he charged us almost $150 more than the price we were told that we would need to pay. When we spoke with the McCrea reps over the phone, since they originally installed our HVAC system they informed us that our out of pocket cost would be $109.95 since our system is still under warranty from the manufacturer. However, after the technician arrived and installed the part he told us that the total would now be $250. Once I told him that this was not the information we were given over the phone, he stated that this is the price. I tried to call the company to dispute this information but since it was so late in the evening before he arrived they were already closed for the night.Desired Settlement: I want to receive a refund for the amount billed over the $109 that was stated to be our total. There were others companies who have cheaper and coupons for no diagnostic fee that we could have done our business through that still would have accepted our manufacturer warranty, but we went through McCrea because of this price given over the phone.

[redacted] was under the impression that our diagnosis fee of 109.95 would cover any repairs that she needed to her system which is obviously not possible. The parts in her system are under warranty from the manufacture but that warranty does not cover any labor to make repairs. The fee she was charged covers labor and the costs associated with returning the part for warranty ect. We use a standardized flat rate pricing book for all repairs in or out of warranty. If she would have spoken to someone at the office it could have been explained to her.
