I personally drove the vehicle purchased by the [redacted] after it was traded inI did not notice any strong odorsThe vehicle is in nice condition so it went through a clean up (no chemicals, etc.).When the [redacted] had a concern we had the vehicle ionized at no chargeI picked it up at the detail shop, and they were curious why we had it done, because they couldn't smell anything, but had added a deodorizer to their process just to be sureIn my experience, chemicals used to recondition a car will dissipate over a very short period of time. The [redacted] had ample time to inspect their car.I will not give them a refund, but neither do I want them unhappyI will offer the following:1.) They may exchange their car for anything of equal value l have in stock.2.) I will steam clean the carpet and mats, and scrub their interior with soap andwater only.3.) lonize their interior again, if desired.4.) Allow the purchase price as trade for anything of greater value in stock. This offer expires December 31, 2015Sincerely, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below This is in response to MrMcCubbin’s letter of December 14, I personally spoke to the detail shop that ionized the vehicle As indicated in my original complaint, I was told that the vehicle was ionized twice, and they still smelled an odor; based on that conversation, I am confused by MrMcCubbin’s statement that the detail shop “couldn’t smell anything.” The detail shop told me that they recommended to the dealership that the interior be shampooed, as they did in fact still smell an odor after the car was ionized, and was told to set off a deodorizer bomb instead When we picked up the car, we were assured that no deodorizer had been used on the car, which I also find confusing.I do not feel we had ample time to inspect the car, as we were accompanied at all times, including the test drive, by someone who had the smell of cigarette smoke on their person As previously indicated, when I opened the car door to leave, I thought I smelled smoke, so asked if the previous owner had been a smoker, and was told that she wasn’t When the smell did not dissipate, I pulled off to the side of the road while still in Madison and called the dealership. The smell in the vehicle has not dissipated While I understand the smell may not be a problem for MrMcCubbin, I am sensitive to odors The smell of cigarettes and strong fragrances gives me a headache and makes me physically ill I have been unable to drive the vehicle. We are very unhappy with our experience at McCubbin Motors Despite being assured that they would make this right, that has not happened We accept MrMcCubbin’s offer to have the interior ionized again, as well as to have the carpet, mats, headliner, and interior steam cleaned with water only However, I would request that MrMcCubbin’s offer to allow the purchase price of the car as trade for anything of greater value be extended to one week (days) after the cleaning and ionization of the vehicle is completed.Thank you for your assistance Regards, [redacted]

We have agreed to let Ms. [redacted] take the vehicle to a detail shop of her choice with McCubbin Motors paying her $100 towards whatever services she selects. We have mailed the check dated January 11, 2016. I consider this matter closed.Very Truly Yours, [redacted]
