... 11/11/2015 Revdex.com of Wisconsin 10019 W Greenfield Ave Milwaukee, WI 53214 ID# [redacted] Revdex.com [redacted], The estimate that was done at the home of [redacted] included the following: Remove and Replace gable vent. Install Bath Fan Upstairs, vent to roof Remove Mold Repair, Prime and Paint Our estimate that was done at Mr. [redacted]s home was done by a technician that did not have access to the attic which Mr [redacted]s has quoted.  From the outside it looks like a gable vent. It is fake and is not a vent at all, it is a decorative piece.  We are not going to cut a hole in the gable if it is not a vent.    That part of the job cannot be done by a ladder. We were going to work on it from the inside, not having  access we did not know it was not a functional venting system.   Now they would need to get a lift to drive on their yard to get to it.  A normal gable you can get to with a ladder and it takes about 2 hours to replace at a cost of $250 plus vent.  This gable vent will cost 6 hours $588 plus $380 for the lift for a total of $968.00. The tech that was on the job was told only to paint the areas where the mold was and nothing else.  The tech said that you cannot match perfectly 100% paint. It is hard to blend in ceilings and walls and there is no guaranty that they will match. The quote was not for repainting there bathroom.  Just molded areas that was cleaned. Vent was installed and when he opened it up a squirrel ran out and down the stairs.  They knew the squirrel was there because their son heard scratching.  But his letter says my tech left something open and that is why the squirrel came in cause his wife and son to be upset.  What a surprise to the tech.      His statement sent to me was: I will pay full amount if you complete the work as quoted and to our satisfaction. I am getting quotes to repair the gable (which your company decided not to work) and after completing that repair, I will pay the difference between what you originally quoted less amount spend on gable repair.   He never complained about the work preformed until he was told that we can’t fix the decorative gable vent under that estimate.   I will fix the gable vent for an additional $968.00.  We estimated the project to be $1939 for entire job.  We sent an invoice for $1600.94.  [redacted] Owner Mr Handyman of Waukesha & N Milwaukee Counties

In response to [redacted]:Our company owner [redacted] did go to the customer home with an employee to reevaluate the job done. Yes we did agree that the work done was unsatisfactory and sent an employee over to clean up any areas of concern that we may have been responsible for. [redacted] sent her...

second complaint the morning after [redacted]'s visit with [redacted] and her husband where they came to a mutual agreement on resolving their complaints. We had not yet had our staff over to resolve the issues discussed 15 or so hours before. The technicians on the job did note that the the area of where paint was dumped was not there when the job site was left. All areas of concern have been addressed even the dumped paint. After our tech finished the job someone had repainted some areas with evidence of painting over bird droppings. (We have pictures of all work.) Our original paint stain was under the droppings. Now the customer is calling and complains about brown stain that is on the siding that was not removed, note we stained with grey stain. Our tech is now dealing with the husband who is very reasonable and states he is unaware of [redacted] writing 2 complaints. We are happy to remove the brown stain that was there from someone else. We have reduced their bill $450.00. A helper was sent to the job at a reduced rate. If one tech would have been there doubling the time the bill would have been higher. We aim for 100% satisfaction and have been there and are going again tomorrow to re discuss these on going issues.Sincerely, [redacted]
Owner of Mr [redacted] of Waukesha and N Milwaukee County Mr. [redacted] staff of Waukesha &North Milwaukee Counties[redacted]

Timeline for [redacted] complaint: 4/27/16 [redacted]'s initial call came  into the office. The customer was asking for the following:  Faucet in bathroom above sink was leaking.  Kitchen under sink leaking, change out a faucet, bathroom,  Also changing out a light fixture in hallway,...

if possible.  Handle on toilets broke.  Estimate deck to be power washed and painted. Scheduled  [redacted] on 4/29/16 and he went to her home.    He replaced the faucet that customer supplied.  Resealed bathroom faucet -which was loose.  Looked at garbage disposal, he declined to work on it because disposal was not installed properly and he did not want to further damage it once he would start fixing it. He  did not fix the  light fixture, location too high. [redacted]'s total charge for this visit was $355.80. 4/30.  [redacted] called the office saying kitchen sink was still leaking.   We set up a different tech to go out and review [redacted]'s concerns. 5/2.  [redacted] (tech #2), was on sight, he found the drain was plugged, by the funnel connection.  He indicated to customer that he would need to rent a power auger and would return once he gets the rental.  [redacted] did not charge the customer for this visit. 5/4.  [redacted] returned with rented power auger.  [redacted] started the project from the top down. He could only get to right under the sink and he had to stop because the section was starting to bend.  He stopped, he showed the customer what was happening.  He explained what the leak was from (the backup drain) and now coming out of the funnel connection. This drain was not up to code. Home owner was shown an example of a "legal code" drainage system.  At that point she was advised to get a certified licensed plumber in order to get the drain to proper code.  At this point the project was out of scope for our limited licensed ability for plumbing.  Again, [redacted] did not charge for this visit or for the rented auger. 5/6 - Customer called into the office asking for 1 hour refund.  She didn't feel  that any of the work should total this dollar amount.  Office indicated they would discuss with owner and get back to  her. 5/9 -  [redacted] called and left message for [redacted]. 5/10 - [redacted] called and left message looking for [redacted] 5/11/16- [redacted] called office looking for [redacted] again . [redacted] spoke with [redacted] and indicated that she spoke with the owner.  She explained that [redacted] applied the appropriate charges for the work that [redacted] did.  She explained that we did not charge her for the rental of the auger as well as the two visits that [redacted] came to her home.  [redacted] again suggested that the customer contact a fully licensed plumber in order to get her kitchen sink up to code.  [redacted] attempted to explain to [redacted] our license ability and how it differs with a certified licensed plumber.  She did not understand.  Mr. Handyman already discounted approximately $388.56 in rental of the auger, miscellaneous materials and labor.  The owner felt this was more than fair compensation for something we legally could not get up to code.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Mr. Handyman's technician had full access to attic at the time of quote. They should have done better job or confirming if gable is real or decorative. They should be professional expert to provide guidance to customer not change the quote after the fact.I will pay original quoted amount as soon as work is complete as originally quoted. or I will pay quoted amount less what it takes to fix gable. In response to this complaint owner is quoting significantly higher amount compare to original quote. I am attaching original quote for your reference.
