Ms. [redacted],
Thank you for taking the time to contact us - I've reviewed your case and checked our records and can provide some detailed information. This response will contain some general information to help with your concerns, but due...

to the public nature cannot contain any account-specific information. I will contact you directly with account-specific information to assist with your case.
MCE is the primary provider of electricity for services within Marin County, Unincorporated Napa County, Richmond, El Cerrito, Benicia and San Pablo. As such we're required to serve all customers initiating service in these areas unless customers opt out. PG&E notifies customers that their electricity service will be provided by MCE when first setting up utility service.
While we submit opt out requests to PG&E within one business day, PG&E will only transfer service at the end of the current billing cycle. This means that customers receive one last bill with MCE services before moving back to PG&E for these services - this is a process we're unable to avoid and I apologize that this wasn't explained clearly during your call with our representative. We are in the process of retrieving the call recording and will work to improve how we communicate this billing process.
After our review we may be able to reimburse the amount in question, but to be clear this would actually cause your charges due to increase, which is probably not the desired outcome. MCE charges are not "additional" to regular PG&E charges, but replace a portion of PG&E charges at a generally lower rate. For instance, a customer paying $110 with PG&E and then switching to MCE might see a bill of about $107 (see PG&E's website: http://www.pge.com/includes/docs/pdfs/myhome/customerservice/energychoice/commun... page 3).
I will follow-up with you directly to provide options available to your account.
Thank you,
