The fundamental problem here is that Client does not understand the nature of legal servicesSimply, lawyers are paid for their timeThe only thing a lawyer has to sell is his time and expertise in working on a matterThis is true for many other professionals as well including accountants, painters, mechanics, electricians, plumbers and nearly all other service providersIt is typically referred to “labor” cost in other industriesIt is also true of anyone who gets paid an hourly wageIf a worker goes to work, they must get paid, no matter what they are asked to do at work that day Our current situation described by Client, by his own words, is as follows: Client hires the law firm to do work for him; Client spends many hours working with attorneys; Law firm prepares Complaint (work product) and speaks with client continuously for over six months; Law firm spends many hours with client on the phone and via email regarding his changing issues; Client subsequently “changes his mind” and demands full refund As discussed above, like so many in the world, lawyers get paid an hourly wage (through billing)When this Client utilized our services for the better portion of a year he was expected to pay for our time and legal adviceIt is reasonable for us to charge this client for our time in providing servicesWhen we worked on this Clients matter, it took time away from other mattersIf we worked for free we could not have a business Unfortunately, we are not able to perform legal services or spend time on a matter for freeAlthough our law firm supports many local charitable organizations we are not a charity ourselves and can not perform legal services for freeWe have our own costs of living and families to support, we do so by getting paid a reasonable fee for legal services When a client “changes his mind” after the time has already been spent on his file, there’s no way to get the time backThat time has been spent, just as the fee has been spentIn this case, the Client changed his mind after the work was already done and now expects a full refundWorse yet, he is now saying these horrible things about our firm and threatening us because we won’t give him a full refund after the time has been spent and the work done Previously, this Client had threatened that if we did not give him money he would post a public complaint about usWhen we refused to give him money based on his threat, he posted the above complaint again trying to get moneyThis is shameful conduct and should not be tolerated by the Revdex.com

The fundamental problem here is that Client does not
understand the nature of legal services. Simply, lawyers are paid for their
time. The only thing a lawyer has to sell is his time and expertise in working
on a matter. This is true for many...

other professionals as well including
accountants, painters, mechanics, electricians, plumbers and nearly all other
service providers. It is typically referred to “labor” cost in other
industries. It is also true of anyone who gets paid an hourly wage. If a worker
goes to work, they must get paid, no matter what they are asked to do at work
that day.
Our current situation described by Client, by his own
words, is as follows:
Client hires the law firm to do work for him;
Client spends many hours working with attorneys;
Law firm prepares Complaint (work product) and speaks
with client continuously for over six months;
Law firm spends many hours with client on the phone and
via email regarding his changing issues;
Client subsequently “changes his mind” and demands full
refund.
As discussed above, like so many in the world, lawyers
get paid an hourly wage (through billing). When this Client utilized our
services for the better portion of a year he was expected to pay for our time
and legal advice. It is reasonable for us to charge this client for our
time in providing services. When we worked on this Clients matter, it took time
away from other matters. If we worked for free we could not have a business.
Unfortunately, we are not able to perform legal services or
spend time on a matter for free. Although our law firm supports many local
charitable organizations we are not a charity ourselves and can not perform
legal services for free. We have our own costs of living and families to
support, we do so by getting paid a reasonable fee for legal services.
When a client “changes his mind” after the time has already
been spent on his file, there’s no way to get the time back. That time has been
spent, just as the fee has been spent. In this case, the Client changed his
mind after the work was already done and now expects a full refund. Worse yet, he
is now saying these horrible things about our firm and threatening us because
we won’t give him a full refund after the time has been spent and the work
done.
Previously, this Client had threatened that if we did not give him money he would post a public complaint about us. When we refused to
give him money based on his threat, he posted the above complaint again trying
to get money. This is shameful conduct and should not be tolerated by the Revdex.com.
