I experienced unprofessional business practices on two accountsThis was demonstrated by the business choosing not to reimburse me in full the quoted $ amount for labour charges which were not preformed
I had paid in full $ prior to the work being completed for foam and a quote of $to cover the foam with my own material
I initially had gone to the shop with the intention of purchasing a piece of foam for a window seatI am a sewer so dependant on the timeline for completion and the cost of labour to cover the foam( I had purchased my own material)I agreed to have the company cover the foamI was quoted $for the labour costs to cover the foam and a week completion date I called the shop after weeks and was told my project was next on the benchI had failed to call the store after the initial visit with a measurement, at that time I apologised and gave the needed information ;expecting that my project would be completed the following week
When I called Thursday of that week and was told that the cushion might be ready early the next week I told the store I would just pick up the cut foam and sew it myself
The problem arose when I was told they were going to "offer " me $refund for the labourA short fall of $He made an adjustment to pay $based on a measurement adjustment to foam NOT referring to initial labour costs ???
He said I could take the $or leave the cushion to have work completed When asked if it would be ready early the next week he answered " it will be ready when I finish it and I will call you"This was not satisfactory to me as I wanted the piece doneI decided to take the foam, my material and the $ as I did not think judging from his behavior that he would make any effort to complete the project in a timely mannerHe did not refund the $back to my Visa but gave me cash and wanted me to sign for the refundHe did not offer me any paper work
The WestShore store manager recommended a different product than we came in forHe gave the item such a glowing review that we bought twoHe did not tell us prior to purchase about the store's "no return" policyWhen we arrived home we realized the product would not work for usWe promptly tried to return it and were told we couldn'tThe manager refused to provide any form of compensation, was non-apologetic, and disrespectfulWe were also unimpressed by the store's dirty and disorderly interiorThe manager gave the distinct impression that he didn't care about our future business and was simply happy he had sold off some of his in-store stockThe bottom line is that this store needs to inform its customers of its "no return" policy before purchase
