Review: [redacted] from McGettigan Landscaping was hired to remove and replace pavers on the front patio in order for another company to remove an old oil tank which was located beneath the patio as part of agreement of sale of the property in October 2013. This patio was contingent on the sale of the property. McGettigan Landscaping was to restore the paver patio above where the oil tank is located to its present condition prior to the oil tank removal process. In as little as one month the pavers started to sink. Now 6 months later the pavers are completely unleveled and a tripping hazard. I contacted [redacted] who said he was hired just to put the pavers back. If this was done correctly and [redacted] tamped the area this settlement would not have been this dramatic. [redacted] said he would repair the patio "at his cost of supplies" of approximately $500.00, which I believe is nonsense because it was negligent on his part he should be responsible to fix it correctly. I also had two other landscaping /contracting companies appraise and quote the patio for me and said that it must not have been done correctly because this unleveled patio is more than a little settlement.Desired Settlement: ASAP.

??? 16, 2014Dear [redacted]:I am writing in response to complaint ID [redacted],| first want to state that work that I provided was contracted with the previous homeowner, I at not time was contracted to do work with the current homeowner. I was aware that the previous homeowner. whom I have provided landscaping services to for a few years, was selling their property. During sale, there was an issue with their oil tank and they hired a company to remove the existing oil tank, That company removed all of the pavers that are in question. A few weeks later, the previous homeowner asked that I provide a price on restoring the paver area for sale of their home. I did advise the homeowner that the soil had not settled yet and could possibly take months to settle. Their response was the company that removed the oil tank told them that they compacted the soil and there would not be any issues. At that point, I stated to them that I would not be liable for any unsettlement because I did not that enough time had lapse, even with the other company compacting the soil. I did go forth with the work after that was stated to the previous homeowner,I was notified by the current homeowner that the pavers had unsettled and 1 met with them to review the area. While meeting with them, they had asked what the price would be to fix the issue. I stated that it would be approximately between $400 and $500 at cost for labor and materials. We also attempted to contact the previous homeowner and they slated that it was not their responsibility. I did inform the new homeowner that I still believed that it was to soon and the soil still needed time to settle, I also recommended removing the pavers and filling the sink hole with stone to allow it to settle over the next few months and relay the pavers it in the spring. The work that I provided was contracted with the previous homeowner and I felt as though I was providing the best recommendation I could to the new homeowner, Throughout the next few weeks, the new homeowner attempted to contact me on Sundays, which is outside of my business hours, I responded to her stating that I was unable to provide services at no cost and I needed to be aware of who was going to be responsible for the costs. The next message I received from her that conversation was also on a Sunday and she was very vulgar and irate with the message that she left for me. At that point, I was not willing to assist her with finding a reasonable solution to the issue at hand,In conclusion, I have been in business since 2003 and have never received a complaint from a customer. I provided the services that my customer contracted with me to provide with a satisfactory outcome.Sincerely,
