There is no relationship between the referenced service call of 6/12/and the stated troubles in November The customer requested service and on arrival the technician was advised by the customer that service was no longer neededUnless agreed prior to dispatch all MCI service is billable
Further, we have central station signals for the past year proving that the alarm has been communicating with central stationAny internal house phone issues would be with the cable providerThe bill is due and should be paid

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:MCI is incorrectly saying there is no connection between the June and November service calls. It was the same problem. The invoice from June states that wires were crossed and repaired. Then in November we had the same recurring issues which led us to contact both the cable company and alarm company. To reiterate, the system malfunctioning was NOT a cable provider issue, as verified by the cable company. The cable company helped us troubleshoot for a temporary fix. But the root of the problem is alarm-based. Since we had paid for it to be fixed in June, we should not have to pay some months later for the same problem. (Later, the supervisor said any repair is only covered for three months.) When the technician arrived in November we told him we would not pay again because of ALL of the previously mentioned factors, INCLUDING how the day before we said we wouldn't. When he said he would charge ANYWAY, we said NO. We wanted the alarm company to come and see about the same problem from June which we paid for. Yes, we had done troubleshooting with the cable company who KINDLY assisted us so we could temporarily have phone connection, UNTIL the alarm company did a thorough check and repair. But this tech did NOT come in past the door and did NO repair. AND as we indicated on our initial complaint to the Revdex.com, we had a VERBAL exchange on the phone THE DAY BEFORE he came and then AGAIN once he arrived we spoke ON THE PHONE with the supervisor who said that "this time" he would not charge.  THEREFORE, we stand by our initial claim to the Revdex.com on all points.

Review: A contract for alarm monitoring that was signed in 2007 automatically renewed for another 5 year term in 2012 without any notice. I subsequently moved in 2013. They are trying to enforce the contract until 2017 even though I am no longer using their service.Desired Settlement: cancellation of the service with no further financial obligation. I am not using the service anyway.

Hi my name is Sue Durante. We are currently experiencing a huge problem with MCI Security also. Our lawyer asked me to reach out to anyone having contract issues or feel as though they are victims of fraud. He would like you to join us FOR FREE. Only stipulation is that if you collect any money, he would get 1/3. Please contact me if you are interested. We need to put this terrible company back in their place.

Response:

We have received a complaint from your office. The data you have provided indicates that the customer is [redacted]

Our records indidcate that do not have a customer by that name.

To our best information and belief this complaint may refer to a collection matter with our customer TNT Welding LLC

TNT Welding entered into contactual agreements with MCI and has defaulted on payment per those agreements.

Review: In 2005 I signed a 3 year agreement with [redacted] At some point over the past 9 years, [redacted] was acquired by MCI. I have recently sold my house and want to cancel my alarm service with MCI. MCI told me that I have a 3 year contract and that I owe them over $700. MCI told me that the original contract that I signed had a clause in it that it automatically rolls over for a new 3 year contract unless I tell them to cancel within 30 days of rolling over. (I guess this means I am in my 4th 3 year contract with them.) I assumed that I just had an annual contract with them after I fulfilled my original 36 month contract. MCI will not let me out of my "contract" and is threatening me with a bill collection agency. I don't think they are being fair especially as I have offered to pay the balance of 2014. Bottom line is that one should be very nervous if doing business with MCI or at least get an attorney to read the two page contract that seems to last for eternity.Desired Settlement: I want MCI to accept my settlement for paying the balance of 2014 which fulfills my annual contract obligation.

Response:

In response to the complaint filed by [redacted] please be advised that MCI Eastern Security was assigned the [redacted] monitoring agreement in a bulk account purchase in February of 2006. [redacted] signed the monitoring agreement on 3/6/2005. The front of the agreement, copy enclosed, plainly states in the same paragraph where the rate and duration of the agreement are entered by hand that the term will automatically renew for a like term upon the expiration of the term. Furthermore, the rate charged to [redacted] by MCI has remained $22.00 per month since he signed the [redacted] agreement per the handwritten clause to guarantee the rate. MCI accepted the terms of the agreement and [redacted] should do the same. The agreement that [redacted] entered into states that the term is a 36 month renewing obligation and whereas it may now be convenient to assume the renewal was annual, clearly it is not.

Based upon the 36 month renewal, the agreement is set to cancel on 3/6/2017 and [redacted] has been advised that the balance due for the current term is $729.74.

MCI Eastern Security is always desirous of a settlement and to that end we would be willing to accept the sum of $364.87 representing 50% of the balance owed.

Sincerely,

Review: It's a multi-issue problem which began in June 2014. On 6/12/14 MCI had a Security System Service person come because the system was not communicating. They "determined [redacted] Crossed from Modem, Repaired and tested" & said it was "normal upon completion." There was a completed report which we signed & then paid $149.80. In November the system alarm & phone was not working again. Our phone service [redacted] came various times, checked, & said it was not a problem with their service. On November 27, [redacted] said that until our alarm company comes to fix the problem, we should connect our phones through the modem, so we could have our phone service back temporarily. Then we called MCI again and explained the situation. At that time of the call, we told MCI that we would not pay for their service, since we had it checked and paid for in June. Nobody of authority was there at that time so we were told to call back the next day which we did. The service person came on 11/28 & at the door when he arrived we told him we would not pay since we had called & stated that we had previously paid for this issue to be solved. He said that since he came, he had to be paid $90 for arriving. He stayed at the door and told us to check the alarm. We did and it seemed to be fine. He was on the phone with his supervisor & I asked to speak to him regarding not paying again. At that moment the supervisor said their warranty is only 3 months & that every visit is charged. However I insisted on his confirmation that THIS TIME he would not charge and he agreed. At that point the service person left after not touching anything in the house. So we didn't sign anything & there was no report filled out. Yesterday we received an invoice for Service & Labor, a total of $149.80. The description on the invoice is also wrong since we told the serviceman about [redacted] & he incorrectly wrote "[redacted] Cut Out House Jacks and Alarm. Sub States had a Friend Wire Alarm Jack" all of which is false.Desired Settlement: When we called to complain yesterday, they threatened to get a collection agency for the bill. We want them to acknowledge their mistake and their very rude behavior, and completely remove the fee.
