McIntosh Manor

Review: The conduct of the ownership of Mcintosh Manor has been unprofessional by ignoring my requests of a refund.

It's my understanding I have a $2600 refund.

My mother was very mobile when I placed her at Mcintosh Manor in October 2013. I visited her almost daily.

After 3 months, she fell and fractured her hip. She died 3 weeks later, March 2, 2014 at the skilled nursing

facility.

When my mother fell and was hospitalized, I was concerned of being financially charged at Mcintosh Manor. I

spoke with the owner, [redacted] Mcintosh, and she personally assured me I would not be charged for any days

my mother was not at the facility. After my mother died, [redacted] Mcintosh would not return my numerous

phone calls and voice messages over a 3-month period. She also ignored my certified letter. I have been

extremely patient in trying to contact her.

This is not how to conduct ownership of a business.

I'm disappointed a business would treat the resident's family by ignoring them. It seemed once my mother died

and no longer a resident, there wasn't a need for them to return my calls or speak with me. The administrator,

Michelle, at the residence is unable to handle this situation, therefore, I have no one to assist me.

If there is a situation the administrator can't handle and the owner won't return calls, the resident's family has

no one to contact. It was difficult traveling the Alzheimer's path with my mother and dealing with the grieving

process. Now I find myself in a struggle to get my refund.

I'm still an advocate for families going down this Alzheimer's path and attend an Alzheimer's support group. I

can't recommend this facility to anyone. I'm writing this complaint in hopes another family won't be treated in

this UNPROFESSIONAL manner.
