Review: I had my car at the Mckeesport Autobody for the front bumper to be replaced. Then after they had finished, I requested for a car inspection to get my inspection sticker. Then I was informed by the autobody employees that the car will not pass due to bad front brakes. So I paid for the failed inspection price $16.05 which I want back because I took the car to [redacted] since the brakes were still under warranty and they checked them and told me that they don't need replaced.McKeesport Auto body also wanted to charge me $800 to replace just the front brakes. Now coming to find out that the brakes which was done in June 2014 at [redacted] really does not need any replacing and they were going to over charge me to replace them.Desired Settlement: I want my refund of the inspection fee because they failed me for things such as front brakes, tires, and wipers that [redacted] state are fine.

[redacted]To whom it may concern:I am writing on behalf of McKeesport Auto Body, Inc. in response to a customer complaint filed with the Revdex.com, ID# [redacted]. The vehicle owner is stating that we failed their car for PA state inspection due to bad front brakes then tried to charge $800 in repairs to fix the brakes.We did in fact inspect the vehicle on August 19th 2015 and failed the 2004 Kia Spectra for several safety and/or maintenance problems. Our licensed technician found the rear tires to be dry rotted, the windshield wipers needed replaced, there was a rust hole in the left rear fender, and the front and rear brakes and rotors were worn, rusted and needed replaced. Each and every one of these repairs is necessary to receive an inspection sticker in accordance to Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.The customer was charged a "Pass or Fail" fee, set by McKeesport Auto Body, of $15 plus tax to have the inspection test performed at our facility. That is a standard fee we charge for the time and labor involved in the inspection process.The customer was then quoted a price of $800 for our garage to complete all of the above mentioned repairs-new tires, brakes, rotors, windshield wipers, body work and paint, and re-inspection of the vehicle. That price included all parts, labor, and a new battery (a separate and unrelated issue).We cannot comment on what occurred when the customer then took their vehicle to [redacted] for a second opinion. It is McKeesport Auto Body's firm stand that we work not only by the standards created by PennDOT but also take very seriously our corporate code of ethics and own personal safety standards. We have been in business over 35 years. We are AAA approved and ASE certified. Our automotive technicians receive ongoing continuing education on a yearly basis. Our facility also works with the PA state police to combat fraud by serving as a neutral third party site to test vehicles with questionable inspection or emission stickers granted by deceitful service stations and dishonest mechanics.It is unfortunate and disappointing that this or any customer of ours leaves unsatisfied. McKeesport Auto Body's goal is to provide a positive consumer experience and maintain lasting trustworthy relationships.
