This customer came to us after cancelling a contract with another builder because they would not or could not do what was requested by the customer. We designed his home from scratch without any additional cost to the customer and built it to the specs agreed upon per our contract and
selection process. The customer was informed throughout the entire home building process of all policies and procedures related to the construction of his home. In direct response to the complaints outlined in the statement, we constructed the foundation with post tension cables and is a commercially rated foundation poured to precise specs provided by licensed engineers. The breaking of the foundation was surface only and was to accommodate the plumbing which happens quite often during construction. However at no time was the structural stability of the foundation ever put at risk. The paint used was *** *** which is a top tier paint manufacturer. The window screens that are mentioned were damaged during transit. We did not keep them. It is our standard policy to not charge the customer for additional screens of course. However in such instances we use a local company that services windows to manufacture any replacement screens. This company has a long standing reputation for quality work and has serviced the *** for many years. We will continue to use them in the event any screens are damaged for any of our homes in the future.We are hopeful that all of our customers are satisfied with our product and our customer service. We feel that we treated this customer with the utmost respect and built a very good quality home at a price that showed the customer great value or else he would have cancelled with us and went with yet another builder. Along the building process it can be very difficult and stressful and we had a few moments of those with this customer for certain. I would like to point out specifically that approximately 2/the way through the construction process it was apparent that he was not happy with our work. Therefore we offered to give the customer his money back and cancel the deal at no cost to him. I gave him a check for all deposits and earnest money which he turned down. He said he did not want us to cancel the contract and insisted that we move forward to completion. We assumed he was indeed satisfied with our work to turn down the offer to walk away at no cost. Throughout the process, we are confident that we accommodated the customer as best we could and we stand by our exemplary customer service and quality homes
