Dealership ran my credit without my permission under the wrong persons name and will not assist me in having the credit pull fixed
I was assisting my grandmother in purchasing a vehicle on 05/20/I went inside with the rep to obtain the key, the rep gave me the impression he needed all of my info just for a test driveAs I provided the info I let him know I was not applying for loan my grandmother wasThey told my grandmother they ran her credit but they really used her name address and dob but my soc secIt dropped my score by 16ptsThe manager stated they could cut my wife a deal on a vehicleThat was a jokeI asked them to have it fixed and they stated they could nottHE SALES REP WAS Trevor AND THE MANAGER IS mARIUS
We had been looking at a truck online with McKenzie Motors for quite some time, and called to make an offer. The lady who answered the phone took our information and the offer and asked us to hold while she talked to a manager. She came back on the line a few moments later stating that a particular manager (I am leaving the names out) had stated our offer was acceptable and we should come in to do paperwork. We drove an hour and ten minutes to the dealership, and asked a salesman to test drive the vehicle. As we did so, we explained that we had called, made an offer, and this manager had accepted. Once the test drive was complete, we asked to see the history on the truck before we did paperwork. The salesman returned without the history, but with paperwork in hand....for $5,000 more than our offer. We stated that _____ Manager had already accepted our offer. He stated that the lady we talked to was in their call center and not allowed to negotiate rates. We explained that she did not, she merely relayed our offer to this manager, who accepted, and this was the basis for our coming down. He stated they could not accept our offer. We asked if we were just told that it was accepted to get us in the door, to which he had no response. We thanked him for his time and left.
We feel we were lied to in order to get us there, and also realized that even after asking, we were not given the history on the truck. In light of feeling that the dealership was dishonest in getting us there, there might also be some reason NOT to give us the history. We will not purchase a vehicle from this dealership, and will recommend others do not do business with them either.
