Review: I went to Cedar Sinai Imaging Center on March 5th 2014 for a stress test. I had a heart attack while trying to finish the stress test, and I was admitted as an in-patient at Cedars Sinai Hospital that late morning. I have received an in-patient bill from Cedar Sinai Hospital that includes the stress test and the x-rays. However, I keep getting bills from Cedars Sinai Imaging Group via McKesson for these same items-- stress test for $655.85 and 2 x-rays for $88.40. The billing people at the Imaging Group/Mckesson don't know or care that the same exact items have already been dealt with the hospital INPATIENT billing. The line items are clearly shown there. I started out as an outpatient and ended up as an inpatient at the hospital. Certain items, such as the stress test and x-rays overlapped and were shown on both billings as an outpatient by the Imaging Group/Mckesson and as an inpatient by the Hospital. Since my insurance company, United Health Care, has paid up the inpatient bill, then the Imaging group should get their money from the hospital.If I didn't have the heart attack, I would have paid the $655.85 and there would be no need for X-rays or for this complaint. I have been trying to communicate this problem with the Imaging Dept. for months now with no understanding or resolution at their end. It would be outrageous if my account with Imaging/McKesson is sent for collections, ruining my credit history. But this seems to be much easier than to talk to the Cedar Sinai Hospital inpatient billing and get the situation straight. I have sent copies of the inpatient billing, my account number, and all has been ignored. The deal here is to bill and collect-- if there is duplication or a problem, the blame is on the patient. Desired Settlement: Cedars Sinai Imaging group/ [redacted] needs to consider that a duplication of bills exists. I have received 2 bills from two different accounts/places for the EXACT SAME PROCEDURES/SERVICES FROM THE HOSPITAL AS INPATIENT. The hospital accepted insurance payment as full payment. THE STRESS TEST AND X-RAYS HAVE BEEN PAID.Imaging group/McKesson double billing and cluelessness about the situation is appalling, but it is what it is. I have written proof of the duplication. It's a no-brainer.
