Substandard work, substandard parts (ceiling vent),substandard care of my property and substandard work schedule. Contract of $7096.20 to remodel master bath, replacing everything except the toilet which was only a few months old. Listed as BBB accredited at Home Advisor, I looked them up and according to the BBB website they are not. What was supposed to take "about a week" took from beginning to finally hauling away the debris 5 weeks. The work was so substandard that I had to go behind them and repair, correct, and complete a lot of the work myself and was credited at $12.50 an hour because that's what he pays his laborers.. I was too mad to contest. His employees would work 2 hours on a good day. Didn't cover anything and the house was filled with dust from removing existing tile and drywall, the vanity top was scratched from people putting tools on it with no protection (I didn't show him because my wife was sleeping and I didn't want to wake her up to show him). They dropped and broke the toilet, I had to purchase it(was reimbursed)and had to install it myself. The vanity cabinet was installed incorrectly and my wife and I had to pull it out, fix the drywall, and reinstall the cabinet (which had taken to men to install the first time). I had to remove drawers, doors and hinges in order to stain and paint it myself. I also had to install the drawer/door pulls as the cabinet people told me they would charge $4 per drill hole (16 holes @ $4 = $64 just to drill the holes). I had to install all the plumbing fixtures and drain for the vanity sink also for the shower. I had to repair and repaint the opening of the ceiling vent as you could see the attic because the work was so shoddy. I had to install all the grab bars, towel bars, toilet paper holder. When we talked I told him we needed everything replaced except the toilet. Mr M [redacted] contention was that the grab bars, towel bars, and toilet paper holder were not in the contract. My contention was that "everything except the toilet" included everything except the toilet. The fan/vent was of so poor quality that it could be heard in the living room. He listened to it and agreed it was too loud. I purchased one from Home Depot for around $300 and he stated that it was about $200 more than what he normally pays for one. That's probably why it sounded like someone was killing a cat. He agreed and the electrician agreed that it was unacceptably loud. His workers would say they would come in at around 8:30 and not show up until 10:00 or 11:00 when they did show up. Sometimes they would not show up at all with no call letting me know not to expect them. Mr M [redacted] said that it was because his employees father was ill, but the employee would show up covered in paint indicating he was working someplace else. On a good day they would work 2 hours. One day his employee showed up to change a switch and was removing the faceplate with his thumbnail. I asked him if he needed a screw drive (I brought him one) and he said that he left his tools at the other job. He determined that an electrician would be required, but I'm still wondering how much work he intended to complete using just his thumbnail. They didn't bother to lay drop cloths or anything and we had to mop the hallway and vacuum the carpet every day they worked as they would haul a wheel barrel in and out of the house through the grass and dirt and wheel in back in dragging dirt with it. Damaged the bedroom door with the wheel barrel and I had to repair it. Had I not done all that I did, the job would probably still be ongoing. Work started on Feb 22, 2016 and ended when debris was picked up on Apr 1, 2016
