Midwest called Ms*** on 01/08/and advised that
a technician would be out on 01/09/2015.
On Friday, 01/09/15, a technician went out and installed a new
thermostat. *** ***, Midwest HVAC
Supervisor, went out on 01/12/after Ms*** said her unit was blowing out
cold air again. Mr*** found the
customer had the thermostat on “fan” which circulates cooler air when the
furnace is not running. Also the door to
the basement, near the exterior door, was open.
Cold air from the outside was coming through the exterior back door
(left ajar so that the dog could enter and exit) and flowing down the basement
stairs. Mr*** advised the customer
to keep the exterior door closed during cold days and adjusted dampers in the
duct system to add more heat in the basement.
Ms*** called again on 01/15/and said that she
was still experiencing problems. She was
advised that Midwest would be out on 01/19/to address the issues. On Monday, 01/19/15, additional remedies were
completed at no charge including:
Cleaning dog hair from the air conditioning evaporator
coil located on top of the furnace. This
clogged coil limits air flow and reduces heat output
Adding a heating supply outlet with register to the
basement laundry room
Relocating a high side wall return air to a low side wall
return air to improve the duct system design in the basement
