Dear Ms [redacted] , Thank you for notifying us of the complaint received concerning our business.Please note that said complainant is not the responsible party for this funeral account That being said, our staff did speak with said complainant over the phone last week and explained to her the situation we were facing in the filing of her mothers’ death certificate.We realize the importance and the sense of urgency required in obtaining death certificates for family members and we place high priority on processing death certificates as quickly as possible.Unfortunately, many obstacles out of our control can influence the filing of a death certificate in a timely manner In this particular case, the death certificate required a coroner’s certification, which in turn required obtaining medical records In Georgia, we use GAVERS, an electronic system for filing death certificatesOnce the coroner had completed the certifiers portion of the death certificate in the GAVERS system, we experienced technical issues, as the certificate was “locked” in the system (something that has never happened with one of our certificates before)Our local office of Vital Records was unable to retrieve the document to release it for certification and printing certified copies We had to contact support at Vital Records in Atlanta for help in correcting the technical issues These issues were resolved on 9/16/and the death certificate has been filed and copies have been issued We regret that a family that we have served is unsatisfied with our service in anyway It is our goal to always provide the highest level of care to each and every family that we serve.Please let us know if there is anything further that we can help with [redacted] ***Carson McLane IncNPatterson St.Valdosta GA 31602www.mclanecares.com###-###-#######-###-#### (fax)

I am rejecting this response because: The major delay was within McLane due to a "technical glitch" in their Atlanta officeThe funeral director did not have the courtesy to call me himself, and the clerk who called did not give me the sense that this situation was being taken seriouslyI am not my mother's executor, but as Next of Kin I have rightsNow I have to wait for the death certificates to go to New Jersey, then be remailed to me in ArizonaIt has been days since my mother's death and I still have no death certificate
