Review: I have been being treated by Dr. ** in [redacted] who prescribed that my left shoe have a lift. He gave me the name of a cobbler and said that it could cost as much as $50 per shoe to have it raised. I left 8 left shoes and was told $50 per should. When I picked the shoes up, only the heel on each left shoe had been raised. When my doctor saw the shoe he said "no, this is wrong, the entire sole of the shoe must be raised". When I called the man back he said have the Dr. fax me an RX. I told him what the Dr. had said and explicitly asked "there will not be an addition charge for this correct" and he replied yes. I had already paid him $400 ($50 for each left shoe) I dropped the shoes off, the repair man received the RX, and I went back in a week to pick up my shoes. I thanked him and went to pick up the bag of shoes and he started yelling at me about how I owed him more money. I tried to talk to him calmly and refresh his memory about of phone conversation and he would not listen. He continued to yell, and started picking up other shoes and showing me what was done and how much it cost. He was yelling about the cost of the materials and glue and on and on. When I would try to speak he would not listen to me and said "I don't care what Dr. ** said". When I tried to bring up our phone conversation he did not acknowledge it in any way. Finally, he turned to walk into the back of his shop and I was so freaked out and to be honest quite scared that I turned and walked out when he had his back turned. My friend was waiting for me in the car and when I told her what had happened she told me to not go back in. Basically he says that I owe him $700 dollar more. How could that even be possible. For 8 left foot shoes that would be a total of $1,100.00. It wouldn't cost that much to make a pair of shoes. Now he has my shoes and is holding them hostage unless I pay him $700. I will not go back in the store alone. Subsequently I got on line and read a review of him hitting a women.Desired Settlement: I want my shoes back. I have paid this man $400 to put an added piece of rubber on 8 left-foot shoes.
