I want it to be known of Birchwood's response: As originally stated, when I called about the failure of his basement waterproofing system, he did not send his foreman to look at the water pouring in our basement as promisedThis forced me to seek out other people in the field of basement waterproofingI had separate companies come, stating that the job by Birchwood was done completely wrong in very explicit termsBy the time I received correspondence from MrC [redacted] , I had to hire another company to install a water system which MrC [redacted] failed to installI could not ignore the damage that was happening because another flood in my basement brought the possibility of mold and further damage, with the possible damage to our hot water heater and furnace, freezer, etcThis needed attentionMrC [redacted] sent me a letter with a check for $informing me that he was a limited liability corporation where his personal assets were not at risk and his business did not have any assets and he keeps only a minimum amount of money in his business checking accountIt is quite obvious that he has been down this road beforeFull refund, because his work was a complete failure and I had to pay for someone else to do his failed job correctlyI am asking for a full refund because of his incredibly slow response that only came after pressure from the Revdex.comI'm asking for a full refund in response to his statement in which he stated to me "As long as the electric is on in the basement, I would never see a drop of water." We saw much more than a drop, we saw an entire flooded basement with water pouring in, while the pump was running and there was no electric failureMy hope is that people would be warned not to do business with this company who does not stand by their product

The customer's reply is accurate except for the following:1.? "....as long as the electric worked there would be absolutely no water on the basement floor."? The contract that was signed by [redacted] lists other exceptions to the guarantee, like water flow being in excess of the pump's capacity.2.? "...said that he would send a foreman the next day."? Incorrect.? I told him I would try to contact him the following day.? [redacted] called me early the next morning and I told him I hadn't yet called my foreman but that I hoped to get in touch with him by about PM.? [redacted] called me about 3:00PM to tell me, "I'll see you in court"He never gave me a chance to say anything.? He assumed we were not coming to correct the problem.? His assumption was incorrect; we stand behind our work and value our reputation.? I sent a letter to him from Florida saying that.3.? "By phone he diagnosed that there was too much water for the pump."? In actuality, I told him that was a "possibility".? When he said the gravity-type discharge pipe was blocked by my crew, I told him we'd come back at no charge to correct that, if that was the problem.4.? "He doesn't have the decency to come and look at why his work is failing and faulty."? Knowing that I was in Florida, I don't know why he'd make such a statement.? If he invites me to his home, I'll be glad to examine and find a solution to the problemDesired outcome:? "...do the right thing by correcting it..."? It appears [redacted] expected the problem to be corrected within hours.? That is an unrealistic expectation and our guarantee doesn't say anything like, "We will correct problems within hours."

In my humble opinion, [redacted] has acted in an illogical and unreasonable manner, based on the following:1.? In the evening of 2/24/16, he called me in Florida to report he got water on his basement floor.? I told him I would try to get in touch with my foreman the following day.? I NEVER said my foreman would be there the following day.? [redacted] called about 3PM the following day, 2/25/16, to tell me , "I'll see you in court", without giving me a chance to say anything.2.? On 3/5/I got an email from Revdex.com stating, "This complaint has been closed as resolved"3.? On 3/9/16, just THREE business days later, I called him to find when we could come to make the adjustments, and he said, "I hired someone else.? See you in court."4.? On 3/23/16, I got an email from Revdex.com stating, "...you did not carry out the resolution as promised."? Well, he never gave me a chance to!? If he was so eager to have adjustments done quickly, why didn't he call me on 3/5/16, instead of other companies??Sorry, but I just don't understand his erratic, impatient behavior. His 3/23/message states, "...the job done by Birchwood was done completely wrong..."? We are still doing waterproofing of basements after being in business for more than years and we have an excellent reputation.? We installed a French drain near the footer and a sump pump, similar to what the other companies in this industry do.? Therefore, we'd like to know the specifics of what we did "wrong"!? It is unfair for [redacted] to attempt to ruin our reputation without giving us an opportunity to make adjustments.? He is not being honest when he states we refused to make adjustments.? Since we value our reputation, this is very upsetting.? Since Birchwood WAS willing to return and make adjustments, at no charge, we are hoping that [redacted] 's unreasonable behavior will not affect our excellent Revdex.com rating.? If you need more information in this case, just ask.? Looking forward to learning your final opinion of this case.? Don't hesitate to call us

In my humble opinion, [redacted] has acted in an illogical and unreasonable manner, based on the following:1.  In the evening of 2/24/16, he called me in Florida to report he got water on his basement floor.  I told him I would try to get in touch with my foreman the following day.  I NEVER said my foreman would be there the following day.  [redacted] called about 3PM the following day, 2/25/16, to tell me , "I'll see you in court", without giving me a chance to say anything.2.  On 3/5/16 I got an email from Revdex.com stating, "This complaint has been closed as resolved"3.  On 3/9/16, just THREE business days later, I called him to find when we could come to make the adjustments, and he said, "I hired someone else.  See you in court."4.  On 3/23/16, I got an email from Revdex.com stating, "...you did not carry out the resolution as promised."  Well, he never gave me a chance to!  If he was so eager to have adjustments done quickly, why didn't he call me on 3/5/16, instead of other companies??Sorry, but I just don't understand his erratic, impatient behavior. His 3/23/16 message states, "...the job done by Birchwood was done completely wrong..."  We are still doing waterproofing of basements after being in business for more than 30 years and we have an excellent reputation.  We installed a French drain near the footer and a sump pump, similar to what the other companies in this industry do.  Therefore, we'd like to know the specifics of what we did "wrong"!  It is unfair for [redacted] to attempt to ruin our reputation without giving us an opportunity to make adjustments.  He is not being honest when he states we refused to make adjustments.  Since we value our reputation, this is very upsetting.  Since Birchwood WAS willing to return and make adjustments, at no charge, we are hoping that [redacted]'s unreasonable behavior will not affect our excellent Revdex.com rating.  If you need more information in this case, just ask.  Looking forward to learning your final opinion of this case.  Don't hesitate to call us.

I want it to be known of Birchwood's response: As originally stated, when I called about the failure of his basement waterproofing system, he did not send his foreman to look at the water pouring in our basement as promised. This forced me to seek out other people in the field of basement waterproofing. I had 4 separate companies come, 3 stating that the job by Birchwood was done completely wrong in very explicit terms. By the time I received correspondence from Mr. C[redacted], I had to hire another company to install a water system which Mr. C[redacted] failed to install. I could not ignore the damage that was happening because another flood in my basement brought the possibility of mold and further damage, with the possible damage to our hot water heater and furnace, freezer, etc.. This needed attention. Mr. C[redacted] sent me a letter with a check for $180.00 informing me that he was a limited liability corporation where his personal assets were not at risk and his business did not have any assets and he keeps only a minimum amount of money in his business checking account. It is quite obvious that he has been down this road before. Full refund, because his work was a complete failure and I had to pay for someone else to do his failed job correctly. I am asking for a full refund because of his incredibly slow response that only came after pressure from the Revdex.com. I'm asking for a full refund in response to his statement in which he stated to me "As long as the electric is on in the basement, I would never see a drop of water." We saw much more than a drop, we saw an entire flooded basement with water pouring in, while the pump was running and there was no electric failure. My hope is that people would be warned not to do business with this company who does not stand by their product.
