DISHONEST ABOUT THE BRAKES
My daughter recently purchased a vehicle here and her negative experience resulted in an avoidable safety issue. We test drove the vehicle and I told them I had concerns about the brakes. They did not want me to take the vehicle to Etowah to be checked and claimed the vehicle could not leave Athens. They assured me the vehicle had been inspected and everything on the vehicle with less than 50% use had been replaced and that is how the vehicle qualified for the 6 month/6,000 miles warranty they purchased for it. I continued to express concern over the brakes, and they were so confident the brakes were good that if there were any problems for 30 days, then they would take care of the repair or replacement. They continued to stress that the vehicle was, after all, covered under warranty.
I took the vehicle to a trusted mechanic I have used for 10+ years. He said the brakes, pads, and rotors (front and back) needed to be replaced. The front and rear rotors had been glazed and the front brakes had very little use left in them. I took the estimate to McMinn Motors. He said he would not pay for any repairs, questioned the judgement of the mechanic, and accused him of overpricing the work. He said he would examine the car and if HE determined that work was needed then he would do the work since he is a “certified mechanic.” He did not disclose any of this information when he was making his false promises to take care of any brake issues and the warranty was worthless too.
I refused to allow him to work on the vehicle. He lied about the condition of the brakes and he misrepresented how he planned to fix them. There was absolutely no way I would trust him to fix a brake problem he had lied about. How could I even trust that he would fix them correctly, or at all, at this point? If he is a “certified mechanic”, as he claims, then he would have known about the brake condition and that makes his sales pitch even more deceitful.
I share this experience with you to warn you not to trust what these men tell you about the condition of a vehicle. For my daughter, this was a safety issue. If we had trusted what they said about the condition of the brakes, she could have been in an accident and injured herself or others. Thankfully, I had the vehicle checked and had all the necessary repairs done by the person I do trust. I would encourage anyone that has bought a vehicle from them to go and have their brakes inspected for safety.
There is always a risk when buying a used vehicle and the buyer must accept a certain level of risk. If he had told me the condition of the brakes was unknown and I still bought the vehicle, then that would have been a risk I accepted. Instead, he chose to be deceptive and misleading and for this I will never do business with them again. I hope you will consider shopping elsewhere, too.
As a side note, we traded her vehicle with them. He went over a long list of items wrong with the vehicle and stressed that it had those faults because it was so cheaply made. I doubt he disclosed any of that to the new buyer since he advertised it as a “beauty.” This is just another example of his deceitfulness. SHOP ELSEWHERE!

Upon learning about the complaint regarding the [redacted] Beer Monday morning, we contacted the distributor and removed all of the [redacted] and ** Lager stock from our shelves. Unfortunately, we do not import this product directly ourselves from Korea and go through a Hawaii authorized distributor. As such, we depend on the distributor's inventory and merchandising to keep our shelves stocked with [redacted] and ** Beer. It is unacceptable that we did not catch the date issue when we took deliver on the 8th of this month. I have expressed our disappointment and concern regarding this product to the distributor and we have stopped carrying it.I would also like to humbly extend an apology regarding the way the supervisor handled the complaint. I will have a long talk with him regarding the way we provide customer service. Please stop by our store and ask for Daniel L**. I will provide a full refund on the two bottles of [redacted] and would like to offer a gift to help make up for your time. I hope that you can forgive this instance and visit us again.
