McNeese Home Inspection

I purchased a home which was inspected by McNeese Home Inspections. McNeese was negligent in several parts of the inspection. Their inspection report says that my roof was in good working order. He told my parents that the roof was new. After purchasing the house many holes and falling decking have been discovered in my roof where felt and decking are falling into my attic. I have had two reputable roofing companies give estimates and have pictures of the cracked, falling decking and felt where something like a tree limb has punctured the roof causing structural damage. These pictures were taken near the entrance to the attic and not in remote areas.

He also told my parents on the day of the inspection that I had electric HVAC. My parents specifically asked him did I have gas and he answered no and told them that we could remove the gas vent pipe running out of the house since we only had electric. We then discovered that we had a dual unit with the gas unit under the house. This was a large unit that was near the entrance of the crawlspace. The inspection report only says that I have electric, but actually shows the gas unit picture as well as the electric unit. We called Mr. on numerous occasions over several weeks asking him to check the gas unit and tell me the age of the unit. When he finally went back and checked the unit,he told me that the unit was 15 years old and that the life expectancy for that unit was about 15 years. I had a reputable HVAC check the unit and the unit was only 5 or 6 years old.
I have sent letters to McNeese who states that he is only liable for the amount I paid for the inspection even though I now have to replace my entire roof and decking. I would have walked away or negotiated this with the seller had I been aware of the obvious defects that he missed.
