when they first came in. They told Mr M[redacted] that needed to flat tow a vehicle and wanted to buy the Fiat. Mr M[redacted] presumed, as most people would have, that.the [redacted]s did the research and determined themselves that the Fiat can be flat towed. Flat towing is a very specific need and it is not practically possible for a sales person to know that capability for all makes and models of cars on the market. If a customer comes to a dealership and requests a certain vehicle because the want to flat tow it, it is reasonable expect they know what they are looking for. That being the case niether Mr M[redacted] nor this dealership did anything wrong. The [redacted] should have made the phone call to Boyer's prior to shopping for a vehicle. After the [redacted]'s discovered they made a mistake they wanted to return the vehicle. At that time it was explained to them that they own it but we will try to trade them in to something that can be flat towed. The problem was that they did not want to pay anything more, not even the title fees that are paid to the state. The dilemma was in finding a vehicle that can be flat towed and cost them absolutely nothing. With this being a new purchase thier vehicle was appraised at $7500. They actually purchased the Chevy HHR for thier vehicle less the @$225 title fees, so they really only paid @$7250 for the new car. Quite the deal for a low mileage vehicle listed on line at $7995. On another note, the [redacted]'s did not pay $8995 for the Fiat, it was actually $8500.In my opinion McQuillen's went above and beyond reasonable expectations to rectify the [redacted]'s initial mistake and trade them into a vehicle that met thier needs.Sincerely, Daniel McQuillen, pres. McQuillen Chevrolet Buick GMC
